I'm newly qualified and considering all sorts of different antennas as I don't have a very big garden but this looks like a good possibility. I'd have liked to have seen a bit at the end where you get it mounted outside. I'd probably put it on the back of my house as it's three stories high. Thank you :-)
Great video, One bit of advice, use some anti-seize paste (like Res-Q-Steel) on the stainless fasteners, it stops the nuts seizing to the bolts, you'll appreciate this if you have to remove a trap or the balun. 73, de ZL3XD.
I'm still waiting for Part 2 where you tune it! I just put one up and am wondering how much the bands will interact with each other. (If I tune 80, will it knock 40/15 off?)
There is not so difficult to assembly this antenna. Its a problem to achieve good SWR in all sw 5-bands. So more interesting to see the process of adjustment and resulting swr-figures.
One other thing, Most people that use metric measurements, use millimetres, not centimetres. The 16 cm you are referring to would be called 160 mm to a person that works in metrics.
Hello, I also own a Diamond BU-50A Balun. Can you help me with the cable length for the 20m band. What is the length of the wire. I still have a Balun from WINDCAMP Gipsy 7-30 mHZ in the specific description, the length of the wire is 5.2 meters
I just picked up a used one of these fan trap dipole antenna already assembled. How is this working for you after 1 year? In what configuration have people preferred to install it? Is the Vee/Inverted Vee with the two main elements separated by >30 degrees the best way or has anyone tried the Horizontal/Inverted Vee configuration?
Thanks for this, I just assembled mine, this helped fill many of the gaps in the manual!
Thank you very much for the video, it helped me a lot to install the antenna, now it works very well

Many Thanks

For 20M band, u need 5.1m each side with no loading trap
