I dont know what's the law for "knock-ons"...... if a player faces backwards towards his teammates then the back of his body would become the front because it faces the try-line..... the knock-on would then be caused by him rolling the ball forwards towards him, i.e. towards the try-line..... The Ref and TMO dont even know how to explain Meli D's knock-on!!
A real shame the officials killed the game so early on, a very clear unintentional head clash with players moving quickly, a yellow would have been better on review. Hopefully this team of officials especially the Tmo will not be part of the world cup😅
