    Hun if you have an "upline" you don't own a business. If you can gain or lose rank you don't own a business. Business owners only have one rank: "Owner".

      @@mercedescue1655 it is structured like a pyramid, yes, but tell me in which non mlm company you have to continue recruiting people to join the business underneath you but still do exactly the same thing as you. Also, in a regular company it would be a really stupid move to try to find more people to sell the same product as you in the same town: if I’m the only shampoo seller in the town everyone will buy from me and I will have a very successful business but if hundreds of other people start selling shampoo in the same town too that would literally destroy my business, how is it possible that in an mlm that’s literally your goal?? How is that good??? How doesn’t that oversaturate the market???

    This video hits home for me on 2 fronts:
    1) I was in an mlm that sold wellness products to help people with heart disease. When James Gandolfini died, my up line told me to use that story as a way to get customers. So sad. MLMs and uplines have no shame. Looking back, I feel so cringy!!
    2) I'm also a CPA. I left my 6-figure job to pursue a career in this MLM. Needless to say, it was a very rough year. I lost over $20K during that time. Signed up 2 people (my brother and my wife), and had zero customers. I was on the phone constantly. Worst decision I ever made
    UPDATE: I re-entered the workforce, and I'm blessed to have been re-hired. Everything is now back to normal. Thank God. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE do not fall for this crap.

    It’s really hard to convince someone that they’re in a pyramid scheme if their belief is that they aren’t dumb enough to be scammed. Whether consciously or subconsciously, their ego doesn’t want to accept the fact that they were scammed. That’s what makes it so hard to get people out; convincing them that they were wrong.

The person that trained me doesn't get part of my paycheck simply bc they "mentored" me. I legit cannot see this as anything other than a scam. Yes even when I worked at bath and body works I got paid for my training and to fill out paperwork. I also got free items to try out. I wasn’t forced to find people to recruit to join my team and I got paid for my time there, even when they asked if I was free to stay longer or wanted to cover another shift later that week. I also wasn’t forced to post on social media promoting BBW and when I requested time off, I would get it and wouldn’t have to work when I was on vacation. My manager wouldn’t bother me because i requested that time off. And exactly you work for the company and if you have an up line you work for people. It’s not your own business.

    Lemme weigh in on the frequency thing as a chemist! So she's right in that everything does have a frequency but...we only see those frequencies when radiation passes through an object. Basically every molecule has their electrons in what's called the "relaxed state". Putting radiation (i.e. infrared, microwave, UV) in causes the molecule to vibrate more and the electrons to go up into the "excited state". We can then read the frequency output as the electrons move down from the excited state to the relaxed state, giving off energy. We're not constantly giving off energy like that and even if we were...adding oil wouldn't change that in the slightest.

    • @vb8801
      @vb8801 2 ปีที่แล้ว +58

      Thank you for this explanation! It seems like people who sell supposed frequency products have confused excited electrons with excited as an emotion lol

Anyway....I seriously doubt oil can help your frequency. And you really shouldn't put essential oil on your skin as far as I know 😂😂😂

    • @alexia3552
      @alexia3552 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      I just realized it may be more helpful for anti-MLM influencers to use that phrasing a lot more frequently: "99% of reps don't make an income off of this." Because I saw the stats that 1% or 0.5% will get checks big enough that you could call it an income (but that's assuming they spent significantly less than that on product), and my brain was like "so if you luck into the 1%... wait no, that's the point, you're NOT the 1% and will never be... unlesss..." and that's part of the hook. "99% will not make money" if someone told me an investment opportunity had a 99% chance of not paying out, I would pass. Considering you're expected to pay money to get into the company, you can rightly consider it an investment.

      I've studied and used essential oils on and off for thirty years and the damage these lunatics are doing to their reputation makes me hang my head and weep. Look on Pubmed. There are many papers published in reputable journals that show these oils can and do have positive effects. Like actual medical effects. However. The research is limited (you can't patent an essential oil, so who in their right mind is going to pay out millions to research one deeply?). Findings are specific and for individual, or handful of oils. I don't ever remember one for ingestion, and I was always taught that the oils were not to be ingested. The oils need to be used carefully and in measured amounts. They require detoxification from the system so care should be taken not to overload someone. There are people that should not be using oils at all. Anything that has a clinical effect can have side effects so of course essential oils come with side effects. These idiots break specific rules of using essential oils all the time. No knowledgeable person would use undiluted lavender oil on a skin condition, that's cretinous. Such a great little resource for us, and these barmpots are ruining it for everyone.

And I am not justifying the model or being pro-mlm or god forbid saying you should join. It's like in Harry Potter: "He did great things. Terrible, but great". I have only come across maybe two qualified personal trainers who have been involved. The majority of the people doing this are not qualified in exercise instruction and I haven't come across any Herbalife reps that have any formal tertiary training in any nutrition-related fields. I have verified this as my city is small and it's easy to check with training organizations as to qualifications. I have encountered numerous Herbalife reps blatantly lying about being qualified PTs and nutritionists.

I loved it and had bought it in the past. But then I learned I could get the same results with sugar and olive oil, and any hand lotion I liked. I learned that from Watkins lol...but it works with pretty much any oil you like. I never bought oil from Watkins. But I didn't have it in me to sell an expensive product when you could get the same results easier with things already in your kitchen.

    I used to be in an MLM for almost a year and spent over $6000 to buy my own stock that I could barely sell. Once I started running out of that inheritance money, I noticed that I stopped qualifying for things, and I eventually couldn’t get the discount anymore because I wasn’t buying Enough stock. It’s also a cult. I went to all the meetings and events and they always said the same phrase EVERYTIME! “Anyone can own their own (MLM name) business. But the only reason why some may fail is because they don’t put the effort in”
    Well I put the effort in, but no one wanted to buy, no one wanted to join and all that happened is I lost thousands of dollars that I should’ve invested and had a shit ton of stock that I couldn’t sell. The only positive aspect of it was that I used my unsold stock as a tax write off. And then I continued to do that for three years 😂

    If joining an MLM is about time freedom and making your own schedule shouldn’t you be able to take a day (or even 10 like I did) to enjoy your special day without feeling guilty? My work was more than happy to let me take the time off I needed to enjoy my wedding and honeymoon

    Hun: and no middle man! I'm not an idiot...
    Me: who's gonna tell her?

    MLMs sure do cut out the middleman-from remuneration. Amazing how cost-effective a for-free workforce can be. (And still, the products are grossly overpriced.)

      I’ve never heard someone put it this way but this is perfect, so fucking true.

    The reel about the hair oil - the other thing to consider is that wounds (like those ones - scratches and bruises, small cuts) heal anyway on their own. This is a common scam - claiming a product or procedure healed something that would have healed anyway, with or without it

    I feel that Ms Begging Hun is her rank by name only, Once you hit a rank, you can call yourself that rank from then on, even if you aren't hitting it anymore

    My own cousin was involved in a pyramid scheme in Pakistan. The company was based in Dubai and offered profit on money they invested. It was quite complicated. The reps were required to bring people to invest and then those people will recruite more people. So, you will get points for the people you brought and then the other people down the ladder. Then the points were converted in to dollars. My cousin went up the ladder to become manager, he earned a lot of money for 1 year but once there was not more to get from people, the company relocated to another company and left Pakistan. The people invested are yet not fully repaid to this day. People are coming after my cousin and now he is going to do unskilled jobs in Turkey to sustain his family and pay back some family. Its very sad

    To that first lady...don't worry, I won't compare your MLM to a pyramid scheme. That would be an insult to pyramid schemes :P After all, the FTC says you're more likely to make money in a legit non-product pyramid scheme or gambling at vegas than you are in an MLM :P

      Lol with that comparison to gambling it made me think about how they do the trip to Vegas and us anti mlm people could get together and go to Vegas and spend whatever we would've to join that mlm on gambling and fun

    26:55 the $100 bills are fake. They are prop money. I have the same ones from Aliexpress and you can tell by the dull looking paper.

    I read a study about the oil on scars and it reads like the massage itself is what helps the healing process, not necessarily the oil itself.

    Ah yes, when someone is trying to sell me something, a defensive and condescending approach is a foolproof method 🙄
