    Like the reviewer, these bikes have me more excited than just about any other new bikes in a long time. I think Royal Enfield are brilliant for going for this market, affordable and simple medium displacement air-cooled bikes neglected and forgotten by the European and Japanese manufacturers.

    I have been eagerly awaiting these bikes.
    The 270 crank is the iceing on the cake.
    I currently have a VTR 1000'and just love the lilt of a 90 degree engine.
    Had a TRX850 and it had character, maybe this is the answer at 62 and many bikes under my belt.
    Set of pipes, better bars and foot pegs , and a couple of engine tweaks and it would be a great all rounder for travelling or scratching with some sensible mods.
    A good bike is one you can thrash and this appears to fit the bill !

    • @ThrottleDownunder
      @ThrottleDownunder  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I agree, it certainly doesn't have to power of your VTR but it is a super fun and usable little bike. You should book in a test ride at your local dealer, I'd love to hear what you think.

    One of the videos that helped me make a comeback to motorcycling after 30 years - thanks! I loved the ability to get on and immediately feel at one with the bike. Mrs was sceptical at first but then realised it was not a racer and not very expensive and is a LAMS "safe" bike to ride. Put NZ$2,000 down, adding heated grips for fatter size and warmth, (middle North Island by Taupo) and later the exhausts upgrade. I think the Gabriel shocks will suit me at 86kg and the seat height was fine for me at 5ft-8". I think the cadmium plated horns will need a paint protection job. Looked just like my 1976 Yam TX500! And similarly specced and HP. Bike arrives end of April. Thanks Graeme, NZ

      I encourage people that ride without gloves to get down on their knees and rub their hands on the tarmac at 0kph then think about how many fingers they will have left when they crash at just 30kph. What is the first thing you do when you come off? Hands out stretched. Gloves are probably more important than helmets.

Hot weather riding gear is available please buy and use it, perforated gloves and jackets with full vents or mesh. Try crashing your bicycle at 30kmh without gloves and see what happens.......the bikes though are great I have test ridden one (in32Celcius) and they are smooth and the gearbox is great 100kmh cruising is really easy.

    Seen lot of comments doubting it's reliability just because it's made in india.indian companies now own land rover, jaguar, Norton all of them have got only better after Indians have owned it newer models have been v competitive.have no doubt this is extreme value for money, there's is no comparision .Kawasaki w 800 , bonville cost twice and thrice ,depending on location ,are really over priced .it's a steal.
    Indians
    Can anyone tell me badly made Indian product at the price which it's offered?
    We can keep making extreme premium uncompetitive products like manyold legendary companies make , which none can afford , or be like these .it's a choice .
    Even Google got better since an Indian has started to lead it.
    These are gift from India to ppl of world who don't want to waste their hard earned money on costly overpriced.

      Unfortunately I haven't ridden the Duke at all yet so I can't offer any advice.

    • @luhaarunk3085
      @luhaarunk3085 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      The thing is:
      1. the duke will get outdated pretty soon, when KTM will launch another model year. RE keeps their bikes for long term, they turn into legends, not model years.
      2. duke has a pretty high compression ratio, runs too hot.
      3. It outputs such high power from only a 375cc engine
      4. Serial no. 2 & 3 above means questionable long term reliability due to stressed engine
      5. Duke = power which goes together with madness, RE = power which goes with relaxed & effortless riding. I am talking oversquare engine vs. long stroke.
      6. Duke 390 has more vibes than RE. And that is physics for you. No fuel, additive, performance part, engine oil etc. can change that.
      7. 650 twins sound way better than the empty tin-can sound of duke unless duke is revved hard. Now you don't want to go over the top just to enjoy your bike's sound with wind howling in your ears.
      8. You are in college. Get RE. Chicks dig old school. Every other boy has a duke (200, 250 & 390). Choose different, be different.
      9. There is no replacement for displacement. Torque sweet torque, that too in the low rev-range.
      9 reasons for you, which will it be?
