Tarikh Episode 313
Tarikh is a daily program in which we present you with incidents and stories of noteworthy persons of Indian History in Hindi. In this edition of Tarikh, Nikhil talks about an Indian Doctor Dwarkanath Kotnis , who served the Chinese soldiers during the second China-Japan war in 1938. He got married to a Chinese girl named Guo Qinglan. On 9 December 1942, a few months after the birth of his son ‘Yinhua’ he lost his life. Till this day, Dr.Kotnis is regarded as an icon of Sino-Indian friendship and is remembered for his services.

A medical team of five doctors (Drs. M. Atal from Allahabad (who was also the leader of the mission), M. Cholkar from Nagpore, D. Kotnis from Sholapur, B.K. Basu and Debesh Mukherjee from Calcutta) was dispatched as the Indian Medical Mission Team in September 1938. All, except Dr. Kotnis, returned to India safely.

There is one Hindi black & white movie titled 'Doctor Kotnis ki amar Kahani'. I saw that movie in my childhood days on Doordarshan and I couldn't stop my tears. That was a classic movie on life of a noble person who sacrifices his life for humanity. A must watch for classic lovers. RIP Dr. Kotnis, you are immortal..

@@msdadsfsx before us there were 3 others who purchased the house and land surrounding it. No one disrespected them. We kept the heritage intact. We lived in the sense means we constructed new house adjoining to the old mansion.

बहुत ही अच्छा एपीसोड यहाँ पर दिल यह कहने के लिए मजबूर है व्यक्तियों की आत्मा तो महान होती हैं सत्ताऐ तथा उनमें काबिज अंहकारी व्यक्ति अपनी अपनी सत्ता बचाने के लिए व्यक्तियो व देशों के मध्य बैमनस्य फैला कर व्यक्तियों को मरवाते है जिस कारण महान व्यक्त यों द्वारा किये गये कार्य भी नैपथ्य में चले जाते हैं.

China remembers Dr. Kotnis. How about we Indians ? do we remember our own heros. We keep quite and see the Tamasha when shameless politicians call themselves Bhagat Singh. Even Pakistan has honoured Bhagat Singh recently because his village where he was born is in Pakistan post partition.
They honor him so much that his name is not in pakistani textbooks, even people living in lahour didn't know his name. But in India every textbooks has his names. Kids knew his name. Now some Pakistani got to know him due to bollywood movies and some pakistani humanetarian doing some good remembering him
