Even Nigerians know deep down that Kenya is way better. 24/7 electricity, good roads, good schools, security, strong currency when sending money back home, ease of doing business, relatively less corruption (compared to Nigeria), cool weather, safaris, transportation, huge malls, good internet, good rail system, friendly people, zero commutation barrier, low inflation, relatively low unemployment, organised cities (not like the chaotic Kampala and Lagos), political stability (the protests are very much controlled; only Tuesdays from 10AM to 5PM), better justice systems. And so on and so on

The girls were simply highlighting aspects of Nigeria which they seemed thrilled about, that did not imply in any way that they didn't have anything going on for themselves or they're "unambitious" as you framed it.
