I guess I can put fairy lights around my stairlift and have my own dismaland attraction. I sincerely **wish** that he may come to Scotland and do something like this. This man(?) is a rebellious genius. And intelligent .
The evening began with being corralled and penned into a maze of fencing where we waited until everyone was thoroughly soaked by a sudden torrential rain and windstorm which arrived just after we were supposed to be allowed in. As soon as that was completed we were allowed in. Inside we encountered a service level of indifference and rudeness which could only rarely be found outside the 1970’s. The long queues to every installation added to the atmosphere. We thoroughly endured our evening and can recommend it to anyone who is tired of evenings full of the same old smiling and laughter. We shall return in a few weeks, next time I shall take the children to build up their endurance.
+Mark Horton We returned for our second trip. The weather was much better and it was far less crowded, which made it all less dismal, however the staff made a determined effort to stop people smiling. I had a couple of spare tickets because two of our group couldn't make it. I offered it to the front of the queue for buying at the gate. (There were no tickets being sold, they had all sold out.) The first dozen or so turned them down for £5 each, obviously in the Dismal groove. Eventually a very nice bright guy bought them, and some drinks when we got in. Thanks :-) It was good we managed to see many things we knew we had missed, the first time around.
A friend of mine had tickets, but I couldn't go with him because it was on a weekday and I couldn't get two days off of work to travel from the Netherlands to the UK. It really seems awesome!

Dismal-land restates the Negativeness of the Universe. The hideous lonely emptiness of Existence, The Nothingness. The predicament of mankind to live in a barren, eternity like a tiny flame flickering in an immense void with nothing but waste , horror and degradation, forming a useless exit line through the gift shop
So many unanswered questions about the reasons behind the making of this place, certain art pieces within it, (I find the lady on the bench engulfed by birds fascinating, but I don’t fully understand the meaning of it.) and how dismaland was perceived the first time it came out. If there’s anyone who can explain I would love to hear your input.
My teacher had us write an essay in class about our reflection on the Cinderella with the birds thing, then she went on to tell us how much she hated Disney
Reminds me of this Angelina Jolie quote, "I remember taking LSD before I went to Disneyland. I started thinking about Mickey Mouse being a short, middle-aged man in a costume who hates life."
Althought i must admit i'm one of those the bulk of times contemporary art leave me disappointed (or don't i just simple understand it?), i think this one is quite a well-crafted and incisive in its message. Good job.
Hollow*Victory Is this the world my grandfather gave his life to create. Is this the world my father left his family to make. Is this the world my brother hoped for me to create. Is this the world my sisters babies were sacrificed to make. Is this the world our loved ones died to create. Is this the world that honors all the victims of violence and hate. Is this the world we the living desire to create. Is this the world responsible for the hollow victories, if we do not rise above the cycles of fear they make. Is this the world we leave the children, filled with weapons, policies, morals and profits of conflict, destruction and waste. Is this the world in which the lack of peace cuts my heart like a wooden stake. Is this the world in which the love of peace can open each and every gate. Is this the world where all our dreams are fulfilled once we wake. Is this the world where we finally learn from the mistakes. Is this the world our mothers prayed to create. Is this the world, if so i*hope its not to late, to admit we were wrong to hate. Time4Change... Watch4The*Sign... C.H.A.O.S.

gosh people still think Banksy is thought provoking, he's just a one trick pony. Such a shame, he clearly is talented but he has the art style of a 15 year old GCSE art student, very monotonous and pretentious.
+marleymation ltd There's something like 50 other artists exhibiting there. It was just Banksy's idea but loads of artists have contributed. I kinda see your point but I do recommend this if you can get there. It's actually pretty funny.
Ok. Seriously? There trying to teach kids, I'm assuming, that not everything is sugarcoated or amazing in life. But....Seriously? Yes I know the real world can be a horrible place, but there kids. Let them me kids. Let them keep there innocence....Or yknow. They just want to scare the sheet out of people.... EDIT: Holy hell, lol. I'm looking back at this comment 10 months later, and already cringing. I didn't know my past self was that much of an idiot. Just- ignore the comment entirely, the whole point of Dismaland flew right over my head.
+MeDerpy this is just a trailer. Its actually not meant for kids but they just used this as a joke. It's actually an art "museum". I bet they actually do not want kids going there.
MeDerpy It's a parody of amusement parks basically, but there's also a deeper meaning. To put it in simple terms, the bemusement park is showcasing what a lot of what Disneyland and such likes to hide. rekt
banksy is so trite and mediocre as an artist but he got rich by making clichéd statements about capitalism that appealed to an audience of passive consumers w/ inherently little discretion, who are still vaguely afraid and isolated by modern life w/o being able to articulate why. so i guess that's the irony/joke/tragedy/art/whatever in itself
He isnt making any money from the public art at all. The person who ownes the walls gets all the money. He made his own painting self destruct after it was sold in auction for 800,000. He sold his own original paintings at a market stool for £60. Any big money he has made some goes to charity or to the company he sells some art through. He could live a multi billion life but honestly. He gives a lot away if they do ever find him and buy from him. Even if its all a lie and hes a millionaire the message is still out there for us to see....i find it very important for this extremely ignorant and naive world we live in

Some people have gentle soothing aquarium , or cosy warm fires as their screen savers... i want that =p endlessly twirling "twirling towards freedom!"
I guess this is edgy stuff for college freshmen philosophy majors?
+David Richard I can already hear the hipsters making philosophical arguments about every aspect of this...
+David Richard it's banksy... maybe the most famous street artist in the world... he usually tackle society, political, irony and some stuff. this is a small project he's done secretly with some of his friend. you should check it out.
JazzKeyboardist1 The more i read your comment the more confuse i become... well that's art!!!
***** . hey, Check out a better punch line to my comment in "Play it again Sam, Allan trying to talk to a girl, on youtube
art + disneyland = dismaland

So many unanswered questions about the reasons behind the making of this place, certain art pieces within it, (I find the lady on the bench engulfed by birds fascinating, but I don’t fully understand the meaning of it.) and how dismaland was perceived the first time it came out. If there’s anyone who can explain I would love to hear your input.
My teacher had us write an essay in class about our reflection on the Cinderella with the birds thing, then she went on to tell us how much she hated Disney
Holy shit, I loved Banksy's Bristol Museum tour in 2009, but I'd never expect him to pull off a stunt like this.
The reactions of Dismaland
Regular boy: I have nightmares now😔
Goth boy : Best.day.evah
Nice work. The decayed Cinderella castle is awesome!
I'm going here soon so exited to get some balloons that say "I'm an imbecile" it's going to be so god damn joyful
This looks like a commercial you watch before the movie starts !
I'm Japanese. It's strange, but I love it very much.
Bravo ! Enjoyed your video so much ! Thanks for sharing
Most of the stuff there looks like it was made by someone on drugs. Just like Disney Land.
Walt didnt do drugs. Its called creativity. It usually comes in a thing most people like you don't have called a brain
Good job.
I bet Tim Burton brings his kiddies there everyday. Maybe Banksy even has a special caravan out back just for him to stay in.
Save your money and come to Birmingham instead.
This is so weird .... yet i still watched it till the end ... i really don't know why.

Is this the world my grandfather gave his life to create.

Great to see a Vegan like Banksy spreading the message most want to ignore.
VeganRevolution Wait what
VeganRevolution What the fuck does being a vegan have anything to do with it?
leavemaloneify Don't worry about him/her. They're obviously hallucinating from the lack of nutrients.
+ganaeBWVW thank you lol!
This place may as well be called emoland
you win the internet today sir
lol 😂😂
This looks like an advert created on the Apprentice
Is that what's left of Euro Disney?
....
No Euro Disney is in France and Dismaland is in England.
+Lucas Bowen Pretty sure it was a joke.
Actually it's in an abandoned tropicana
Only good comment here.
A famous artist once said that ‘you can do anything you put your mind to it’
Is this what's getting Banksy all this hate lately? I just don't see this as a reason to hate Banksy.
+Burnout SELLING anticapitalist ideologies
***** Right... tickets cost £3... I'm pretty sure the money they make from this is to cover the cost of running the place. Doesn't compromise the anticapitalist statement in the slightest for me...
Christian Lea
ye, but im talkin in general
Freaking brilliant
Le clip de promotion du parc d'attraction créé par Banksy et son équipe, Dismaland, situé au sud-ouest de l'Angleterre et ouvert jusqu'à fin septembre 2015.

dismaland is like abandoned by disney Sega theme park lol
they made it so good and spooky from UK 10 out 10 😁👍
Grande banksy! me encantaria ir, una lastima que vivo en Argentina.
Yo i can't believe this doesn't exist anymore I would have loved to visit here. Banksy you're my hero
gosh people still think Banksy is thought provoking, he's just a one trick pony.
Pretty cool of Banksy to make a commercial for Coney Island.
I'm loving all the sepos spectacularly missing the point :)
brilliant in every way that brilliance could be - thanks and hope it opens up some minds
Anybody knows if this will open again?
Why?
+Jaszs Because I really wanted to go there 😁
its permanently closed
Banksy is amazing, the concept of this theme park is beautiful and OMG WHEN CAN I GO!
Who came here after watching "Top 10 things to didn't know about theme parks"?
lol you know me so well
Banksy is pure genius
Ok.
Okay, first of all, it's THEY'RE* second, you missed the point of this bemusement park entirely.
Cyberlord Please, explain.
+MeDerpy this is just a trailer. Its actually not meant for kids but they just used this as a joke. It's actually an art "museum". I bet they actually do not want kids going there.
+NaW Game Kids are allowed in, they have different prices for children in the official site. It's definitely not aimed for kids though.
MeDerpy It's a parody of amusement parks basically, but there's also a deeper meaning. To put it in simple terms, the bemusement park is showcasing what a lot of what Disneyland and such likes to hide.
rekt
This is the best theme park ever. I can't wait for them to open a Dismaland here in the US. 🤪👍
banksy is so trite and mediocre as an artist but he got rich by making clichéd statements about capitalism that appealed to an audience of passive consumers w/ inherently little discretion, who are still vaguely afraid and isolated by modern life w/o being able to articulate why. so i guess that's the irony/joke/tragedy/art/whatever in itself
Even if its all a lie and hes a millionaire the message is still out there for us to see....i find it very important for this extremely ignorant and naive world we live in
The little boats with the migrants in, is genius
o my god who the hell cares
This sums up the British sense of humour
