Congrats on finishing your anniversary piece...even with the repeated visits trying to spoil the surprise! One of my favourite parts of autumn is seeing the leaves change colour.
Glad you can laugh now about the garage door story. Congratulations on your finish! Being in the south we don’t have the leaves changing colors for fall. I had to get married in October so we could honeymoon in the north so I could experience the beautiful fall colors.

Nice progress this week, and congrats on finishing the anniversary piece on time. Hope you have a wonderful anniversary. If I was locked out of my house for that long I'd be looking for a bathroom. It's nice that you had your stitching with you. The leaves are starting to turn colors here. Tomorrow will break the days of upper 80 degree weather we will be having. It's supposed to rain and be in the upper 60's. Maybe I'll finally feel like decorating for fall. Take care.

I was so surprised to see our leaves start to change a few weeks ago here in WA - even though it was still pretty warm. It’s now cooler and more beautiful each day!
Another great video, Laura. I totally agree with your sentiment about new cars.....As fun as it is to have a new car, there are so many new "bells and whistles" to learn, as well as the worry about that first ding or dent! I do hope your new SUV lasts 20+ years like your mini van! And what a great time of year to get a new vehicle - you can drive around and enjoy the changing leaves of fall! Fall is my favorite season, love the changing in the color of the leaves.
The changes you make to patterns, whether it is color/fabric changes, or changes to the design itself, is always thought provoking for me. In a good way lol. I never would have stitched Kringles, it being so huge and monotonous in places. But the changes you made make it look more approachable. Rather than continuing to buy more and more patterns, I am now trying to look at my pattern stash with fresh eyes. If I stitch snippets of some of my favorite patterns, I can stitch more patterns!!! The only leaves that are changing here are the almond leaves that have fallen during our almond harvest... Hide those new cars keys so your hubby can't find them lol!

Funny, living in Upstate NY we loved the changing of the leaves! Here in NC...no leaves just pine needles😂.
He, he… It’s because Zephyros is the Greek god of the soft west wind😉(where I live, I think we have the Sirocco & the Mistral winds).

The leaves are not changing very fast, but the corn and beans have things looking very fall like. We have had warm, dry weather...need rain again.
Oh my gosh your garage door story had us giggling because it reminded us of one trip where I accidentally locked our car keys in the car at lunch on the way to our destination, and then realized when we got home a few days later that Michael had accidentally locked the interior door from the garage to the house without remembering that a house key was not on my car's keychain. Two locksmith calls in one weekend 🤣 We both have our Pumpkin Birthday pieces picked out and will be starting them on Michael's Birthday which is also in October, on the 7th. The summer heat just never leaves. It has felt like July in Houston this week. Even so, I’m definitely pulling out an autumn project Sunday.
The best thing in fall is the *leaves* changing the color.

I buy a lot of my fabric from the Fat Quarter shop!, and I love your progress on the full coverage. I am planning to start a Laslo Koday piece after the 1st of the year. I think it is #12. Oh and I have plenty of leaves falling outside already!!
I read that when leaves change to gold and red etc, it's because the tree is no longer making chlorophyll and so the true colors come through. Great video.

we have some tree's here that the leaves are changing. You might qualify for handicap parking, I am disabled and never have to worry about cars being close for dings....just a thought...haha! Our neighbor has a maple tree and its leaves are already falling. The rake will have to come out soon.
The badge is beautiful! Great job!! I had been waiting to start all my Halloween/Fall pieces until the 1st but now I have an excuse to start early. So of course I'll be joining in on the SAL. Maybe on Sunday to coincide with the Autumnal Equinox. I love Fall! Especially for all the pumpkin and apple desserts and of course the changing leaves 🍂. I plan to start Pumpkin-color Autumn by Owl Forest for your birthday Sal, but I'm still waiting for the floss to arrive. Hopefully it gets here soon.
If you're curious, the Mary Poppins Sampler is something I'm doing also. I have marked off that outer border and it accounts for 51.92% of the stitches. It's 21,338 stitches. (that's a lot of stitches I don't need!)
Happy Autumn! Happy Anniversary! May I ask what colors you used for your wedding flowers/dresses, etc. I fell in love with a line of dresses in Autumn colors when we were shopping for my sister's upcoming winter. Always thought how much I would love to plan a fall wedding. Such pretty gold, sienna, cranberry, rust, burnt umber and chocolate just like the leaves swirling down off the trees in the wind. Hope you have fun celebrating this week!
