This video is simply outstanding. Every first-time owner should watch it.
Thank you very much that is greatly appreciated
Question, does starting the video recording from the goggles simultaneously start the video recording onto the drone micro sd card?
@@Tymothic I want to know the exact answer to this question too
Thank you for making videos. It’s so nice to hear someone talking normal, like a conversation, than some other guys that sound like they’re all coked out. You’re the best!

Thank you for putting this together. I just picked up my Avata yesterday, so this is perfect timing
Thanks, Shawn! Very detailed and clear explanations. btw You should know that out of all the scores of Avata tutorials on TH-cam, your tutorial is the only one giving us a detailed setting up for an actual first flight! Much appreciated!

Thank you so much for the video. I just started flying and I am out had a good spot to fly but I don't have any of the manuals so I didn't know how to actually start the motors
do you still fly it?
I have litterally just treated my self to an Avata (christmas present to me 🙂 ) so this video was very useful
By far one of the best tutorials on Avata. Thanks 🙏🏽
Thank you very much
That it?Thank you for answer.
Thanks for the beginners' guide! My Avata just arrived and I'm in the process of setting everything up. This sure came in handy. I've flown a lot of different R/C stuff over the years, but this is my first dive into FPV. The Motion Controller is really the reason I got this. It looks like a great way to get a taste of FPV flight. I know the learning curve can be quite long using a regular transmitter. Also, what exactly is this drone made of? Thanks again and be well!
Thank you very much. You will love the new drone, it is really easy to learn. As for what it is made of I am not sure some sort of really strong plastic
Perfekt video👍👍👍
Thank you
Thanks Shawn for this great instruction video. Just got my Avada today so the 11 year old grandson and I can fly. Going to start out with the controller and later transition to the motion controller as you recommended. You mentioned that you can connect to a smart phone via the DJI fly app. Can the smart phone take the place for wearing the goggles?
Literal perfect video. Now having the Avata for 3 months now originally starting with the Motion Controller I can tell you that it is not all too great. Its very sensitive to slight movements of your wrist, especially if you have shakier hands. Also it halves the max speed you can fly, and you simply cannot descend past like 30 degrees downwards (relative to the level plane of straight flight if that makes sense) without the drone stopping itself to super slow speed. I have been a standard drone remote controller pilot with the Mini 3 and Mavic for a year or so now, so the experience with the joysticks definitely helps with the transition to the fpv controller, but even if you have not used a controller before I highly recommend starting with this over the Motion Controller. The Motion Controller is convenient at times because the learning curve is easier, but after the first like month you're gonna want the manual controller to do all the things you probably bought the drone for in the first place lol.
I wanted to also add DJI basically rips you off with the new Goggles 2 by giving you slightly better quality in the goggles screen (kinda useless anyways) but halving the range of your drone/goggles transmission, which is far more important. And its ~$200 more... So get the original goggles combo.
This video was tremendously helpful, thank you. My Avata is on order, and I now have a good foundation for my first FPV flight. (I already fly a Mavic.) I'm hoping that those who prefer the traditional controller for FPV tend to be biased because that's what they already know because I really want to love the joystick controller.
Thank you I am glad you enjoyed it
Hello, thank you so much for your work; this review is fantastic. Where is this stunning natural setting are you flying in this video?
Great video. Just about ready for my first Avata flight with the motion controller. Questions regarding the display in your video. Why are there two height readings and why does the center reading sometime show in red and then completely disappears at higher altitudes. I’ve never seen this in the Fly app with my Mini and Mini2. Thanks.
For those who want to use the DJI Assistant app to upgrade firmware, note that while you can use a regular USB-C cable for the Avata and controller, it won't work for the goggles for some reason. Instead, use a UBC-C to USB-A cable (and then adapt back to USB-C if needed) and the app will recognize the device. Astounding, I know.
Great information. The only thing missing was how to change the language from Chinese to ENGLISH!! :))
For the MC interference issue, you could try recalibrating the MC compass/gyro
Indeed I may give that a try again
My Avata with Integra goggles is arriving from Amazon tomorrow and my apprehension has just melted away after watching your wonderful video, amazing !
Just one thing ..... do the goggles, drone and controller have to be LINKED before connecting with the Fly app and ACTIVATION ?
Am I the only one here who is dying to see what this guy looks like?
yes
Yeah think u are mate
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Thank you so much for making this video. I've watched a few of yours, and each one is easy to watch and so informative. I recently bought an Air 2S, but you can never have too many drones, right? So I'm considering the Avata. If I could pair the goggles with the Air 2S that would be perfect.
Yeah, that would be nice. Many are still hoping that will happen with a Firmware update.
Wow
Great video
They need to pay you more dude
I wish
Hey how are you recording the OSD from the goggles? Mine just gave me a low res google view but now OSD?
did you do the video for using the head movement feature in the goggles
Hey, I am a novice fpv drone driver and got an avata do you recommend leaving the sticks as they are or adjusting?
Quick question, I own the dji fpv drone. If I buy just the dji avata replacement drone. I could bind it all to the equipment I already own for the dji fpv, correct??? Ty
Still waiting on mine, B&H still has the solo drone on Backorder...
Great video as always .... How do you go straight up with the motion controller or Gain altitude?
Without pushing the trigger point straight up (or down) then press the trigger. You will see an arrow appear letting you know you are only going up or down
Do you recommend to pair everything before activating the drone?
So if I don’t wear glasses do I need to do anything with those lense circle things or the box of lenses they sent me? Can I basically throw them out? Or are they necessary for like fitment or anything? I got the explorer package
thx for the video! im having a problem with my avata, just bought it, and after the activation and software update, it says it has an interference in the compass. how do i solve it plz!
Hi I just got the Avata so my question is on the motion controller left side for the camera why can’t you angle the camera down while flying?
Congratulations for the detailed video. A question: When a flight is made indoors or e.g. under bridges, buildings, etc. the GPS is likely to not work, what if the signal is lost (it is known that in ce mode, this happens at 300-500 meters), will the RTH be activated ?? And if this is set to 50m. ???
it will only return home if the RC signal is lost. If the GPS signal is lost it will keep flying, you just have to be cautious of wind as it could cause the drone to drift when hovering
I was looking into this however you stated there is no obstacle avoidance in which is a concern with being a new pilot and just trying to get experience.
If I am mistaken on obstacle avoidance, please advise.
Could the interference be a faulty controller?
Nice guide. Is there any way to lock the gimbal to always look straight ahead instead of tilting up or down with the motion controller? It would be useful for picking up elevation without having to look at the sky.
Not that I’m aware of.
