As an alumnus of Aligarh Muslim University, I am deeply moved by this beautifully crafted documentary, "Anjuman-e-Aligarh." Huma Khalil has done an exceptional job in capturing the essence, history, and unparalleled contributions of AMU and its alumni. This documentary is a testament to the remarkable role that Aligs have played across various fields in India, from politics and humanities to medicine, engineering, government, and business. AMU's distinction as an institute of national importance in the Indian constitution is a proud moment for every Alig. No other university in the world has its students writing the name of their alma mater along with their own. This unique tradition symbolizes our everlasting bond with AMU, a place that shapes us into compassionate, community-oriented individuals. Leaving Aligarh doesn't mean leaving behind its spirit. The values and lessons imbibed at AMU stay with us, thriving within us till our last breath. The university teaches us how to care for others, our community, and society at large. The bond among Aligs is unbreakable, transcending geographical boundaries. Anywhere in the world, being an Alig is a badge of honor, ensuring a warm welcome and a sense of family. My heartfelt thanks to Rekhta for producing this documentary and to Huma Khalil for her brilliant concept, direction, production, and execution. This documentary is a treasure for all Aligs and a beautiful introduction to the legacy of AMU for the world. ……..I believe that "Aligarh Muslim University is not just an institution; it is the heartbeat that echoes in the souls of its alumni. We carry its legacy, spirit, and teachings in every step we take, forever bound by the love and pride of being Aligs.

My journey from a small town in Assam to my days at Aligarh, my Alma mater to Alma mater studiorum Universite di Bologna,Italy, the oldest University of the world. Huma Khalil's documentary is a tour de force, offering a nostalgic journey back in time while also inspiring hope for the future. As someone who had the rare honor of studying at Aligarh while my father was a Pakistani diplomat posted in Delhi during the early nineties, I hold this institution close to my heart. Aligarh not only awarded me an MBA degree but has also remained a significant part of my life ever since. The documentary is exceptionally well-made, particularly the segments on women's empowerment and the educational history of Aligarh. Kudos to Huma for her brilliant effort in capturing the essence of this esteemed university.
I spent more than a decade in this place before moving out in the practical world but this city and of course, my alma mater will live in my heart forever.

This university stands as a titan, a catalyst for transformative change and intellectual enlightenment. Its is an institution of national importance and played an unparalleled role in Nation building. It was here that I was sculpted to become the part of Steel Framework of India. I implore the Alig fraternity to cherish the bedrock principles of unity, fraternity, intellectual pursuit, renaissance, and to revitalize our rich cultural legacy.
Absolute nostalgia! Loved it. Congratulations to Huma Bibi and the team for helping us reminisce about a period in our lives where we learned the art of living life to the fullest while achieving our degrees.
Anjuman-e-Aligarh is a must-watch for anyone interested in the history of education in India, cultural diversity, and the pursuit of knowledge. It is a fitting tribute to Aligarh Muslim University, capturing its spirit and significance with grace and depth. This documentary not only educates but also inspires, leaving a profound appreciation for the legacy of AMU. Its not just a celebration of AMU's past and present; it also addresses challenges faced by the institution. Issues such as funding, modernization, and maintaining the balance between tradition and progress are discussed candidly, offering a balanced perspective on the university's journey. It also delves into the academic excellence that AMU is known for. It highlights notable alumni and their contributions to various fields, from literature and science to politics and social reform. Well done Ms. Huma Khalil! Truly an amazing and nostalgic experience to watch.
Commendable effort by Huma to epitomize her passion and love for this great institution.......this film was much needed since long, it's a treasure of emotions and historical information. I'm proud to contribute a little to this gigantic project......Thanks again Huma for selecting me to recite this shahkar nazm by Abid Ullah Ghazi sahab @1.08 hrs.......
A unique documentary, well thought out and diligently curated to reflect the Aligarh journey since inception till date. Time progresses seamlessly. Early days with old cultural values and surroundings till we see the modern perspective of Aligarh. Excellent job indeed.
Absolutely incredible......this brought tears....Aligs all over the globe will relive the time they spent here and the life long memories that were made....so so proud of you ❤
The element of nostalgia is so concrete in the film. It has a vintage charm to it. A well made film that speaks of the timeless charm and beauty of Aligarh.
Bohot khoob!! What a heart and soul touching documentary on AMU. Thank you Huma and the entire team for this great work of showcasing the history, magnificent achievements and tahzeeb of Aligarh!! Huma, we are so proud of you.

A very deft use of Docu-Drama format. Nostalgia, per Graham Greene is "memory without pain". Huma your commitment to "Aligarh nostalgia" is simply admirable. Your AMU loving parents would be so proud - Bless them. Naved Masood
Huma has beautfully presented the Aligarians perpespective of Our their Alma mater , AMU. She has very well articulated that Aligarh is not only an educational institution but is an ecosystem where talent flourishes because of its 36O degree impact on people mind body and soul. Its linguistic eloquence , its cultural uniqueness and its connection to the community where passion and energy is in abundance.
Aligarh ek sheher nahi ek jazba hai. Thank you huma khalil for reconnecting us to the emotion all over again. Thank you for taking us back to Aligarh Days.

A very deft use of Docu-Drama format. Nostalgia, per Graham Greene is "memory without pain". Huma your commitment to "Aligarh nostalgia" is simply admirable. Your AMU loving parents would be so proud - Bless them. Naved Masood
