Very well presented and good, clear info. I think the music is too high in the mix for this video. I found myself turning down the music then turning it back up to hear the presentation.

Will bulls still be calling at this time or have they gone silent because they are no longer breeding?

I am saving this video for future reference. One day I will get to go try my hand at elk hunting with a recurve. I have wanted to hunt elk since I was a Kid, well I am not sure when I will grow up, 48 now and have yet to go, but it is on my list. So thank you for taking the time to give us some help in locating the ELK. Just FYI, I am a OnX user and have been for deer hunting for a while now.
Thanks again sir and have a blessed weekend.

Are cows frequently in the same types of sanctuary areas? Or do they behave differently?

Cows will always be where the best food is. Their concern will always be getting ready for the coming winter. The bulls will group them together and protect his harem and they'll stick around him for that, but they'll still mainly be concerned about food.

Thanks for sharing. Always nice to reinforce those principles and make an e-scouting plan accordingly. I won't be able to go elk hunting this year, but hopefully next year I will so I try and soak in as much info as I can. Definitely will get that Elk and Elk Ecology book you recommend as well when the time is right. Good luck to you and the Fresh Tracks Crew as well as all the friends you are helping this year.

Thx again for an informative video. I got drawn for a antlerless elk tag this year so I have the whole month of February to fill my tag in Northern Arizona what would you recommend in this scenario we had a dry monsoon but I know where there are natural springs in the area where I want to hunt I just don't know what their food situation will be at that time of the year I never bothered to check out that area that time of year I usually hunt there in November it's not really pressured by hunters but more by local residents and ranchers. Thx

All elk hunting videos should start with the unglamorous part of hunting - packing it out.

Nuttin' like a good dose of common sense to help guide you along. Nice series, thank you.
