Every vid I have seen so far is reviewing it on a 4090, literally less than 1% of pc gamers own a 4090, I would like to have known how it runs on anything but the best GPU on the market right now xD
I've seen videos of people getting really great performance on 4070 class cards. I'm sure itll get great performance on the 3000 series of cards so long as its a 3070TI and above.
Yup they all test on max GPU max CPU and say oh the game runs buttery smooth. really guys ? own a 2080ti here, it runs like garbage in native. 66% or 50% resolution looks like shit. And too much frame drops. Oh i tried 4K and 2K. I wont go down to full HD lol litteraly every game i own runs at 4K with some tweak on my 2080 ti. Even Star Citizen Steam Deck, run above 30 fps sometimes, too much frame drops hits single digit with low settings 100% resolution Everytime square ports a FF game on PC it's technical garbage very disappointed, asked fo a refund. This is the first time i think i've asked for a refund on steam
Percents might be a little higher, maybe lower, but running the game with an AMD 7900XTX without dlss and all that, in 4k the game's been running 120 for me on ultra... O.o (I got my GPU for side game dev work outside of my day job)
4:12 this is so real. I never thought about the characters voices in the original, then when Remake was released their voices and personalities felt so familiar, like it was like that all along. Each one of the actors deserves much praise
Only thing, I'd change is, I really like the summon system of OG ff7... I dislike the current having to filling summon bar, summoning, and then summon just wading around the arena attacking once in a while... I need me Neo Bahamut blowing up the planet!
I really appreciate your channel. Your narrative focused approach is a lot like mine. I bought this after getting my NVIDIA 4070 back in December. Had to finish Final Fantasy Xvi, which I'm just about done. To be honest, while I'm absolutealy looking forward to playing this and loved Remake, I'm a little nervous about just how much beaf this game contains. I still have to replay Remake on PC, because it's been 4 years. Plus I have Infinite Wealth waiting for me. AND Fantasian, AND Tales of Graces F. Feel like that's going to be my whole year in gaming spoken for. Because life. And work. And family.
As someone like yourself who also doesn't play much on PC but has a super power PC for work this is the most tempting non pc exclusive I've seen yet. The PS5 version at 60 FPS just looks a little too soft, still probably going to play it there though, you know discs and ownership and such, but man... it looks real good on PC.
7 Remake was similar on Steam Deck. Ran well FPS wise but had to have some jagged / fuzzy visuals to do it. You COULD tweak settings to get it to about 45 FPS, change the refresh rate on the Deck to 90hz, and it felt pretty smooth still, but you could smooth out some of the jagged edges. Not the perfect way to play it, but it worked. You can also stream from a beefier PC to the deck to get better visuals and be able to play in another room / on the toilet still. I did about 50/50 on Deck and Desktop with Remake just because it was fun regardless of visual fidelity and I wanted to get through it. Excited for this one.
PS4 was my last console, Im fully PC and use DualSense too. I have avoided spoilers for this game, but have been wanting it sooo bad and I have it preordered on Steam already. I have 1 question which I SORT OF tried to google but I am too scared of spoilers. Can you please please tell me where the story "ends" this time? As in from the Original FF7 what would be the "stopping point". pt 1 stopping point was leaving Midgar - what is equivalent for this time around? IDK why I just really want to know that before I start
Yess... I've been waiting for this! I'm on a 7900XTX and Linux... VERY curious what kind of performance I'll get. Remake had some issues, but since all reports suggest this one is better optimized, I'm hoping for the best!! Oh and mods...
Don't listen to the other guy, game looks way better and runs better than it ever did on release on PS5 Especially with an 7900xtx, there were details I didn't know were there on a lot of the textures that I'm seeing for the first time (and I already spent almost 100 hours on the original game) TAA or AA, it really sounds like some entitlement feature that reeks of pretentiousness that, I honestly get really frustrated with, with regards to video games. Especially when the game was already good without all of these things back on the game's release. Like, Balatro exists And Metaphor ReFantazzio had texture problems but that game still got my heart racing and tears swelling, just give the UE4 game a chance and just enjoy the ride. The long journey awaits
Yeah, while I confirmed TAA and TAAU are currently the only options, I can also say for me it runs at a beautifully smooth, crisp and stable 4K/60 and looks way better than on PS5 (though that's with dynamic resolution on.) So while it would be great if they continue to patch in some more advanced options to get a little more out of it, to me it's gorgeous, fantastic game and feels like one of Square's better ports.
I'm gonna come back here in around 7months brandon and invite you to my birthday party, you better not be capping. Edit: I'm canadian/live in canada so dont worry youll be safe
graphics is hard to see on youtube from your own device after a certain threshold, people that have both played the PS5, PS5 pro and PC version see a different in quality from all of them for just this game.
I will tell you how it is possible. The GPU has its own VRAM, and the cpu uses the ram in your motherboard. PS5 however has only 16gb of shared memory, between the gpu and cpu. A current gen gpu usually has a minimum of 10gb of VRAM, current gen gaming systems usually have around 32gb of RAM. That means that cpu's have access to 32gb of memory, leaving at least 10gb of vram free just for the gpu to use. Therefore, PC can do a whole lot more than console because there are less memory limits. It really isn't that difficult to understand, simple math.
Game looks fantastic, and I will get to it, eventually. I just don't have the same nostalgia for FF 7 as I do for 6, 9 and 10. Don't worry though, I won't ask Brandon to fly all the way to the west coast and come to my birthday party if, in exchange, he promises not to break into my home and go through my stuff.
I tried it down to 30 fps and it didn't really improve the visuals unfortunately. But I didn't spend a lot of time tweaking them, since I was mostly there to play on my desktop.
I dropped the PS5 version around the 30hr mark because it was a blurry mess on the performance mode setting and I couldn't stand the 30FPS cap on the 4K mode. I'm thrilled to dive back into the game and actually see it thru to the end now. I've 2 4090 PC's and a 6900XT PC that I am eager to try the game out on.
@JustTheGems nah, you are just a chill. I am a fan of the remake series. I even love most of the new voice actors, but even fans admit the new zack VA is trash. Keep coping though.
If this doesn't sell like hot cakes.....PC bros simply don't care about amazing games and would rather just play banana ninja samurai knights 5 ultima for free and 😂
bro doesn't even understand how scaling works. you could have played it with no blurriness at all with the right settings. and this is a game reviewer.
@JustTheGems yeah i definitely know more than you about gaming and graphics settings. but that doesn't matter. the quality of the content never matters here. you just randomly get blessed by the algorith, exploit it or buy some indian viewers to boost your numbers. that is all it comes down to and you know it.
I see how everyone praise the look of the game and im confused... sure it's ... pretty. but it kinda looks dated ? nothing looks incredible, just fine and yeah pretty . nothing is really crisp even at max settings. the cut scenes tho are beautiful.
@ ah really? I’m not familiar with JRPG I trust you are right. To be fair the game IS great and that’s better than just mind blowing graphics, bad gameplay.
I hope this game does well on PC. It was definitely one of the top 10 jrpgs of 2024.
Every vid I have seen so far is reviewing it on a 4090, literally less than 1% of pc gamers own a 4090, I would like to have known how it runs on anything but the best GPU on the market right now xD
I have seen one review with a 3070ti who got around 60 fps in 1080p outside of combat.
I've seen videos of people getting really great performance on 4070 class cards. I'm sure itll get great performance on the 3000 series of cards so long as its a 3070TI and above.

AMD users can't use a good AA. Been forced to play it with blurry TAA. I refund it. And have the same card as you.

I haven’t marveled at graphics since FF13,13-2.

Sounds like a PR vidéo. Feels very different from the usual reviews.

Look, no promises... 🤪
I'm glad to see this looks and runs well. I've been concerned since unreal engine games are notoriously not the best on pc
Going for 120fps on a steam deck was a wild move lmao, of course it looks bad that way
I tried it down to 30 fps and it didn't really improve the visuals unfortunately. But I didn't spend a lot of time tweaking them, since I was mostly there to play on my desktop.
A lot of people don't have a pc, let me know when it comes to xbox
You’re not the type I would go to for a PC port but thank you nevertheless for the video!

I read your title as FF6 Rebirth and had to do a double take
So they didn't give 3 basic ass settings like before? I'm offended.
"they are doing remarkable work with these characters" yeah if we pretend the zack VA doesn't exist....
You have bad taste

Nah these clowns will play COD and CSGO with their Ultrawide 480hz monitors than actual games.
