My daddy use to play in different bands but he always took this record with him on the road and hitch hiked with it home I have it today. Glad we got to meet John playing in brantford ont before my dad passed and talked to him back stage it was the best night
Kathi McDonald worked with LJB for over 30 years. She passed away in 2012 and is one of my all time favorites. Some of the personnel in this video can be seen with Kathi and LJB in other places on TH-cam. Eric Webster on keys, John Lee Sanders, sax, keys, back up vocals, Butch Coulter, harmonica, sometimes back up vocals and Telecaster. The long haired guitar player is Canadian legend Papa John King. The drummer might be Al Webster. I cannot think of the bass player's name right now. An interesting aside: On the studio version of this tune, many TH-cam commenters attribute the back up vocals to Kathi. In that case, it was not, it was Maggie Bell.
Great commentary. Baldry was a a truly underappreciated artist. You're right about Maggie Bell singing on the album. Another artist that never got the recognition she deserved. How many people today even remember Stone The Crows?
This is tremendous. I do also love the studio version with Maggie Bell. I saw Maggie do a solo show opening for Bad Company many years ago. She blew Bad Company away completely.
she did id rather go blind on his" on stage tonight" albumm....and i think she did you lost that loving feeling in the eighties with her also..i own one of her albums based purely on her work with LJB...breath taking

I first heard this one way back in the early 1970's and it's been part of my playlist ever since. These two are together in eternity now.
RIP Kathi and Long John.
Brilliant ,Kathy sang on Stones Exile Main Street , Delta Lady with Cocker and Leon Russell , Ike and Tina Turner , could go on
