I saw Long John in Hollywood at the Whiskey. Totally amazing. He died July 22nd, same day as my friend David Corona. I lived in England, and on the plane home back to California. This was the song in my head. I adored Long John. May he rest in peace.........he was beautiful.

I worked in the downstairs bar at the Cooks Ferry in Edmonton north London around 1966/7 Long John Baldry was singing with a traditional jazz band at that time So was lucky enough to enjoy his gigs there.I met him again in the late 1970s in Vancouver.

I loved his "Baldry's Out" album. So great to see Kathi here. She should have been a huge star in her own right. What a voice. I never knew Long John was a gay man until I read about his passing. Evidently, he lived out and proud before many others did. I guess at 6' 7" ya just didn't take sh!t from anyone.

I'm looking at the songwriting credits on Baldry's album "It Ain't Easy" and it credits Lane/Stewart/Wood with the song. I found your video after watching a Faces' video of the same song.I don't know if you ever had the chance to listen to the album, but it's a classic. The cd re-release has a bunch of bonus tracks, that were not on the original vinyl.
