I love such videos. But i think the gears(transmission) makes it more powerful in building torque for the motor. In reality it's a weak motor just your gearing is making it possible

Moral of the video: this motor can lift tons, or even megatons etc (theoretically) if modified properly. However, the more weight you design the mechanism to lift, the less speed the motor will output. In other words, you have to sacrifice some speed, in order to provide enough torque to lift more weight, because the motor can output up to a specific amount of power.

The current is the same as the gear system which reduces the speed but increases the power.

tape player motors run at 6 volts but they have some good torque
some run at 12 volt please read label before using i have tape player motor it say 12 volt on it but some run at 6 volt indeed

amazon, ebay or any RC models shop online or in your city if big enough. Metal ones are more reliable.
