Went there today for the first time, only been riding about a year, bloody knackered after all the hill climbs but had a great day, didn't do quite a few of the features but manage enough to make me happy...including the rock garden and final decent, good day out and didn't break anything😁
Thanks 😊, is there anything in particular you are struggling with over there? Personally it’s just fitness now lol I want to be able to do 5 laps non stop but I can only just manage one right now lol
@@leemtb just like you, I am there for fitness. I get out of breath after the hill climbs but I am improving all the time. Some parts of the red route really scare me and I think that's because of lack of confidence and going to slowly, I will get there. I am going to take the challenge you set yourself and try to achieve 5 laps. You have inspired me, thank you again.
Good work Lee, I know these runs well from when I lived in Benfleet, I was up there every weekend. Are all the features open now or are some still closed off?
Yes, first things first, stand at the top of it with your bike and just roll it slowly over the edge to check whether or not your chain ring will strike the top rock. If it clears it then you’re good to go. Also don’t do this alone, make sure you have someone with you just in case. I recommend for your first go just roll the front wheel off the top slowly. As the nose drops get back over your rear wheel, keep your heels down and drive your legs into the pedals as the back wheel comes off of the top because as it drops there is a tendency for feet to come off pedals. Do not touch your brakes at all once your front wheel leaves the top rock until you have cleared the feature completely. Once you have done it once you’ll realise it’s actually quite a nice smooth feature and you can then safely start to hit it faster each time. Good luck and let me know how you get on
I looked over the edge for a while but then decided to bottle it. I will try to gain confidence and then I will be able to attempt it. Thanks for the advice :)
Haha no worries, my best advice would be don’t do it until you go there and know you absolutely want to do it! You must fully commit when doing it, well done for having a look though, I recommend you do this every time you go, even when you know you’re not going to do it. The more you look at it the smaller it will seem
Took me ages to get over the edge on that one, when my knee is better and we’re not in lockdown I’ll be doing a technique video for it as it’s been requested by another subscriber and I’ll try to cover all the steps I recommend for people to get over the edge
🤣 just had plenty of practice, just take your time go often and keep looking at the features every time and eventually one day you’ll be standing there looking and feel ready for it
It’s down the hill from leap of faith, as you come out from leap of faith and cross the cattle grid you turn right on a small trail and go around the tree
Great informative video - thanks for sharing.

Yeah it’s definitely a killer over there! I call it my outdoor gym because it’s all pain for little reward lol
Cheers for the mention mate👍🤣🤣
Any time lol
Thank you. I am a Hadleigh addict. Not as brave as you but getting there with the help of this video. Well presented BTW.

@@leemtb I was there today, did the blue route and was hardly out of breath. I'm sure I could have gone around again. ;-)
Me too, done a red full loop then took some family around the blue for the first time
good stuff, nice work... those little rocks on that last ascent just kill the legs.
They really do, they look small but take a ton of effort to get over
This is very helpful thank you ☺️
Glad I could help 😁
Great upload! I would love to see a Triple trouble A line technique video, I can do it kind of but still not confident 👍
I’ll have a look next time I’m there and see if that’s something I can put together for you.
Awesome🤙
Nice footage!
Thanks

Not sure its been a long time since I've ridden here
I’m thinking of doing triple trouble A line at some point. Have you got any suggestions or tips before I attempt it?

Thanks for the advice :) I am going on Saturday so I will let you know how I get on

Ok i will do :)
That secret rock garden is by the leap of faith. Its not too hard
After 5 months of riding I can do all of the features there apart from a-line triple trouble I just can’t get my head round it and send it

I don't like you anymore as you make it look so easy ;-). I might try the red route again, either today or tomorrow. I am up there both days.

Where is that hidden rock garden ?

Lee MTB thanks mate will check it out tomorrow
