The line was only open for 62 years from 1902 to 1964, many hours I played over those marshes as a kid in the late 50's an 60's from fishing in the 2 rivers even on the rail track before the viaduct was demolished.
Yes - branch line from Crowhurst to Bexhill West with an intermediate stop at Sidley. A quicker route from Bexhill to London than the coastal route via Eastbourne. Popular with commuters. It's strange that they decided to blow up this viaduct whereas others in the country remain. Done so quickly after closure as well - all very strange.
