I've seen this routine close to 100 times from the times he did it on Fool Us and his own 52 shades video so I pretty much figured how he did it. The only thing I can't figure out is how he got so many copies of Tyra's signatures in the relatively the same spot. If you pause it at 3:12, you can see that signature isn't the same as the other ones. Hands down, the best slight of hand I've seen in a long time.
that's actually the most tricky part of his acts that perplexed even magicians, making this act impossible to be copied by others. probably an original idea of him that was never done before. I finally know how he does it after watching his tutorial dvd, but I won't give it away here haha.

Interesting fact: He did this trick on Penn & Teller and he fooled them. Penn said he didn't even know how Shin Lim made the pen disappear. I don't know if you had a chance to react to Mat Franco (the first magician to win AGT) because he is really good but Shin Lim is so much better. I saw his Las Vegas show and I was near the stage and it was so impressive.

gerard, i think thats what great about shim's act, its simplicity and elegance. it's a shame that agt producers made him hack it all up and mess up the flow. none the less he adapted and still put on a great performance, wich shows how talented he really is, imo. imagine if criss was told to do the same.
