HOW TO: Use MyEtherWallet (MEW) To Send/Receive Ethereum & ERC20 Tokens

- This guide/tutorial will show you how to setup and use MyEtherWallet (MEW) to create an Ethereum wallet securely (offline) and check your Ethereum/ERC20 token balances using Etherscan. I also provide a high level overview of how to send transactions offline. But I show you how to send Ether/ERC20 tokens online using the JSON/keystore file and password that you generated previously. You can also use MEW with MetaMask, Ledger, Trezor, and Mist, but I showed you the way that doesn't require any 3rd party integration - although they are better for security and may not be too difficult to set up. You've sent tokens from the ethereum wallet. How about from an external source, ie latoken to your MEW?

I got hung up on some stuff. When I make this wallet the password is just for that one time wallet and that same password is used twice in the jason file example right. Also once I make that wallet and put something in it I can't add to it right? I need this written out with more detail. I am not confident yet. Also, after I have used it to say put some eth in and send it can someone send back to that wallet or do I have to make a new one with a new address and give that to them to send to me? Currencies of airdrowp arrived at the etherscan and when i added them in myetherwallet did not show the price of the currency what do I do to turn them into ETH
Some coins don't have any available market. Meaning there are no buyers willing to take your air dropped coin for ETH
Am nervous about having my private key at risk, even doing the OFFLINE approach. I will look more at seeing if my Ledger Nano-X will play ball more easily. I'm also dealing with the learning curve to get funds to QuickSWAP, purchase two or three different tokens, and then get them stored on MEW. The trick is to try all this while avoiding MetaMASK and putting my MEW private key at risk. The coins I wish to purchase at QuickSWAP probably are not supported yet on Ledger, so I will be stuck with MEW.

Are there any other software wallets out there that would allow one to send ether from one keystore file to an address (of your choosing)?
My problem is that myetherwallet cannot decrypt my keystore file!!! I am providing it with the right password but it simply doesn't work.

oh your ERC20 tokens, just look at your address on Etherscan and see if it shows up on the Tokens dropdown

Can someone help me here please????? Here is my dilema: I tried sending trx coins to my nano ledger S through the ledger website which makes you download several apps, one of which is an ether app (classic one). I put in the address ledger gave me and put it in the address bar on coinspot and hit send. It went through but the coins never showed up in my ledger ether app account. (hope that makes sense) I contacted both ledger and coinspot and coinspot said theres nothing they can do and said to contact ledger and show them the address. Ledger replied to me and said we don't support trx but go to "my ether wallet" and see if it went there. So I went and opened a my ether wallet account and am wondering how I get those coins into that wallet. If you can help I'd be forever grateful! THanks, Tom
You need to figure out how to export your ledger account to my ether wallet. Either through your private key or Json file. Whichever one ledger let's you do.

Umm does the format of your ETH address start with 0x and then have a bunch of characters after it?

Umm Etherscan is just a block explorer it's not a wallet per say. You need a wallet to access your coins/tokens. Try metamask
Good video bro, For crypto to work in the mainstream community though I think there really needs to be a simple to use wallet. Gotta send it to an exchange, turn it into ETH or BTC, then sell those for USD in Coinbase or another exchange that lets you withdraw money to your bank

okay. watched video. Tried to transfer my KBC and ETH. got an error msg that said I didn't have enough$ to complete transaction.... so I have a couple of questions. 1) which address to I enter, the etherscan wallet address or my public address? 2) how do I fund ETH so I have enough to complete transaction? I am new new new at this. Please be patient with me. I would be happy to email you my number if we could resolve this quicker:-D
