So you will see an additional address in your Exodus wallet once importing is complete? So one will then have the original address and the new imported address?
Thanks for this great question, Keith! You wouldn't see an additional address in Exodus after importing a private key.
The Move Funds feature uses the private key to authorize a send from the address that the funds were held on to the Exodus address.
This would be a one time move. So if that address that the private key belongs to receives funds again in the future, they would not show up in Exodus, you would have to perform the Move Funds feature again.

Can you clear up some confusion?
What is the difference between "sweeping funds", "importing your private keys", and just regularly "sending and receiving" funds through your public addresses?
Fantastic question! We don't actually import private keys. We sweep the asset from the private key, which is basically the same as sending the full amount of the asset over to your Exodus wallet because then it's connected to your Exodus 12-word secret recovery phrase. Sweeping keys is considered safer
@@exodus Clearly you need to update this video AND your website AND your wallet app. Examples - The title of this video reads "How to Import Private Keys" . . . the "click" in your app says "IMPORT" BUT your reply here reads "We don't actually import private keys". How have you let this happen? Teach your users about import vs. sweep!!!!

I wanted to import BCH private key to exodus mobile but guess what. You cannot scan a qr code.

Why cant I import private key for Ethereum????

Good question! In Exodus Mobile, it is possible to import a Bitcoin private key only. Luckily, you can use Exodus Desktop to import your ETH private key ➡️ www.exodus.com/support/article/87-can-i-import-a-private-key.

Does It Import Your Last Address?
Thanks for watching and that's a great question. The importing process in Exodus moves the funds from the private key's address to your Exodus wallet address. This means it won't import the previous address. Alternatively, you can send from your old address to your Exodus address.
