you seem like an intelligent person, but a little constructive feedback for you - you seemed very quick to make judgements and assumptions after doing a miniscule amount of research and having very little understanding of BTS. They ARE actual composers and music producers. There's more than 10 years' worth of their vlogs, livestreams, behind-the-scenes vids, interviews, etc. where they talk about or show their songmaking process. As well as song credits - they are usually accredited for their work, but not always.
Taylor has compiled the information through a decades' worth of content and sources. You did quick rudimentary research and read a line or two of Wiki page, I wouldn't be too confident about your conclusions. Taylor also went through revisions for this video helped by many fans, some of whom have careers in music or extensive musical knowledge, as well as vast knowledge about BTS - any inaccuracies as big as what you assumed would have been pointed out to Taylor before she released her final draft of this guide video.
If you had read more Wikis about RM, it DOES actually say he is a composer - "With 200 songs attributed to his name as a songwriter and composer by the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA), as of September 2022". There are other sources for his music producing work, which is not as much since he focuses more on songwriting. But he was already producing music as soon as he joined the company as a trainee - for example, We Are Bulletproof Pt. 1 is a song he wrote and produced at 16 years old, he had 2 other rapper trainees record it with him. Years later, all 7 BTS members re-recorded the song and released it on Soundcloud.
Suga was already making beats, producing and selling songs when he was an underground rapper. He is well-respected as a MUSIC producer in the industry. And if you had read in more Wikis, it DOES say Suga is a composer - "As of 2022, 147 songs have been attributed to him as a writer and composer by KOMCA (Korea Music Copyright Association)". He co-composed Psy's song That That. He composed the melody for Outro: Tear by the 3 BTS rappers.
RM and Suga especially devoted a lot of effort and time to hone their writing, composing and producing skills, starting from their training years. Hence why the 2 of them carry the biggest load for songmaking responsibilities for the group, but all 7 members have done it. There are other producers, writers and composers that work on their songs too, it is a collaborative process. But RM and Suga are major contributors.
Big Hit was indeed NOT a big company, was not even considered mainstream. Just because people were auditioning for Big Hit doesn't automatically make them a big company. That's an illogical conclusion to make. It would be like saying a small business must be a big business because there are people buying from their store. Even the smallest labels will have people auditioning, but much less people comparatively to large labels. Before BTS's popularity, the kpop industry was dominated by 3 big companies - JYP, SM and YG (blackpink is from YG). Those 3 labels had the most power, money and influence over the industry and media. They have big budgets and large established fanbases. Their artists will also have an easier time getting publicity, performance time, promotion, etc. Artists who were NOT from those 3 labels had a harder time with everything. BTS had difficulty getting a spot to perform and their performances were sometimes cut short by broadcasts. BTS was the first group in a long while to win Grand Prize at award shows, those were usually won by artists from the big 3 labels.
Also, in regards to all the nice equipment and fancy production BTS has - they didn't have big budgets or extravagant production in the beginning years, and it wasn't what made them popular. You don't need all that to become popular, as BTS shows. A lot of the nice production stuff you see in this video are from recent years, as a result of their efforts over the past decade. As the video informed you, they struggled financially in the beginning. Their production was quite simple in the beginning. They did not gain popularity through extravagant production and expensive cameras/sets. They didn't need that to showcase their genuine selves and their growth as artists and people, which is what drew fans in. They connected with their fans through simple things like vlogs, livestreams and sharing a lot of behind-the-scenes stuff. Showing their personal side, artistic side, and their interactions as a team. They gained popularity through their many talents and work ethic. And making authentic music and art that resonates with people. Being creative and diverse with their different genres of music and lyrical topics. And being very humble, kind, down to earth, self-reflective, humorous, genuine people. They're always supporting each other, highlighting each other's good qualities. When RM writes a song, he doesn't have a problem with giving more parts to other members so they can shine. RM as the leader of the group has many opportunities to take the spotlight, but he's always giving it to the other members and sacrifices a lot for the benefit of the group. All the members do that for each other and support each other, in various ways. They have many admirable traits, while also being transparent and open about their flaws and mistakes. It's stuff like this that builds a large loyal fanbase, not fancy cameras or sets.
Since it seems you are also interested in building something up, you can take BTS as a good example and focus on developing those things I mentioned, not on having expensive equipment or fancy settings. Humility, a learning attitude, being able to self-reflect, and not being quick to judge or make negative assumptions are good qualities to develop and can take you a long way. Expanding your cultural knowledge and awareness is another useful thing to develop.
    EDIT on dec 19:
for the people reading this comment, Cyrus has been binging through a ton of BTS content for the past month+, he really loves BTS a lot now. And he is doing less of the jumping to conclusion stuff. So continue to watch his reactions, don't be put off by his earlier reactions like this one. He really loves all the members a lot, he enjoys all their content, and his reactions are genuine. He livestreams on his Twitch and watches like 7 hours of BTS content at a time lol, so you can go over there if you want to join.

Oh good, you've already wrote most of my thoughts.😉 I feel a little sorry for the guy. He keeps comparing himself to BTS and BTS to others all the time. It seems like he keeps pointing out the budget of to cheer himself up... Nurse, this patient needs an IV playlist full of Seokjin. BTS kept dancing for hours every day even when they were hitting their heads on the ceiling in that tiny run-down studio. Now their variety shows are big - at the beginng it was only them and the table. When they were seeing big concerts, they were saying - "let's do something even bigger one day, let's work hard", not "of course, their company is rich". They weren't talking about views and reach on their social media. They were talking with their fans about their work, feelings, inspirations - literal personality. Hopefully, in a few years he's gonna look at this and laugh of all of his pretenciousness here. I can relate, I was pretencious in my early 20s too - no judgement here. There's always (j)hope.

I don't mean to be rude. But the first thing i learnt in school was that Wikipedia is not a reliable source. Anyone can make edits wikipedia because it's open for anyone to make changes in the page. They are all composers, we have actually seen them compose. (And I wouldn't make it up, because I think being a producer and a song-writer is more than enough to call yourself an artist.)

Also Taylor did a lot of fact checking before releasing this video & also shared it in draft form to get feedback from ARMYs about its content as well!

BTS’s variety shows did not start off high budget. They even had to borrow cars owned by company members to shoot their Music Videos. They worked hard and kept pushing even when everyone told them it would be impossible. Their variety shows got better because of years of hard work. also noticed that you said they are good and that they have lots of power. You are missing the two biggest elements. They are incredibly humble and they are incredibly talented. You can have all the money in the world. If you don’t have a humble, down to earth personality and incredible talent you won’t get far. Please don’t downplay their achievements. They got to where they are now through hard work, talent and kindness. I don’t care when people don’t like their music. Your opinion is your opinion. However I do get upset when they aren’t respected. They deserve better

in the kpop industry there is the big 3, the 3 biggest companies on kpop and it is really hard to debut on any of these.
the bts members were the only 7 guys in big hit, some of them tried joining to the big3comp but they didn't pass the auditions so they chose the only option they had, big hit. it was near bankrupcy, there is an album of bts that they recorded on a GARAGE, they were often mistreated by people with more fame on NATIONAL TV just bc they weren't as big as now and no one had said anything just bc they didn't have the resources or power in the industry, they were nothing to them
now bighit is one of the biggest companies out there and all thanks to bts

As an intelligent man you easily passed over things that may make your situation more relevant. When they first started 10 yrs ago they had nothing. They talk about Jimin having nothing for clothes. They as a whole had very little clothes and they would share and mix and match but when Jimin came to practice the first day he was wearing sweatpants that had a smiley face on the butt. Suga's first words to Jimin were 'You should throw those away'. They had 7 bunkbeds in one bedroom and in the other room a coffee table they used as food table/study table/meeting table they used their studio in their practice area for their music studio/youtube recording studio (it was a closet). So looking at your area behind you their little apartment could have fit into that room that I am sure is not your situation. So no when they began the company (was nearly bankrupt) never supported them. This happened after years of work these boys did. YEARS. You see them in 2020 10 yrs later and say well of course they would do well with drones and big yards and huge house that was only available to them since 2020 my friend so if you want to start a TH-cam Channel and work on ideas. Find your small ideas and talk about them talk to people about what they want to talk about. Because that's what these boys did. If you want to see this the channel Bangtan Subs goes back to the very first videos in 2011 that show them singing, joking, talking about what is going on with their advancement towards being BTS, all translated in English by wonderful ARMY that were Korean/English fluent.

I understand his sensitivity toward the term “composer” as that might be something personally sensitive for him. As you say, Wikipedia is not the best source of information regarding this but it is a location a lot of people go to so I won’t call him out for that. I think they might not use the term composer as BTS tends to have a group writing process. They all contribute towards the lyrics, melodies, beats, choro etc for the songs. They also work with the in-house producers\company resources. Maybe they only are assigned the “composer” title for solo works. I tend to prefer these collaborative efforts more as you get the best ideas from multiple talented members all in one song. BTS is very very far from a group that has songs just written for them which they just sing. If they do get a song written for them they usually modify\ change it in some way. I can only think of Dynamite being one they decided not to change because they liked it as it was.

In order for the members to be full members of the Korea Music Copyright Association, they need to meet certain requirements of % with lyric writing, music production, music composition for the credit to be given. That's most likely one of Taylor's sources.
But as far as composing, the way BTS composes is different from how a Hans Zimmer composes (Suga is a huge fan of his btw). A perfect example of this is the theme song for their show "In the Soop". The song literally came from V plunking out random chords on a keyboard, J-Hope singing "soop soop soop soolooloop" and the others joining in adding lyric ideas. They created the melody accapella over the simple chord structure that V was playing. Suga walked in, liked what they were doing, and grabbed his equipment (which he always travels with) & recorded them because he thought it really would make a good theme song (the rest of them were just playing around). By the end of the show you see them recording the song with Suga at the soundboard. Hans Zimmer is a composer who puts notes on staff paper to build the composition. BTS members throw out ideas in a collaborative process and build melodies that are either accepted as-is, re-worked, or set aside in favor of something the producers think works better. But they ARE composers, even if they don't get a written credit for their piece of it. On their recent anthology album PROOF, they released a physical cd of unreleased demo versions of songs some of which were versions submitted by individual members but were either reworked or discarded.

RM - "He has written and COMPOSED much of the band's output since their debut in 2013..." "With 200 songs attributed to his name as a songwriter and COMPOSER by the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA), as of September 2022..."
Suga - "As of 2022, 147 songs have been attributed to him as a writer and COMPOSER by KOMCA."

I think you have trust issues.. hahaha.. I mean you can search on wikipedia but there are lots of videos to prove it where they are doing it themselves.. it's okay if you ask but don't judge because you are too far of knowing them at this point.. their old videos are so cheap, not edited and sometimes blurred. They do live in their small studio and do vatiety show in a small resto near their dorm. Their old MVs are also low budget compared to other kpop companies. They can eat in one table including the staff bec again they were too small at that time.. you see fancy videos of vacations, and that is recent that they are already millionaires. The online concert stage, ofcourse they are so big now that's why it's highly budgeted.
Hardwork pays off-making songs, composing, producing, practicing choreos, working out for stability, making video contents, interviews here and there, concerts, doing lives for their fans. all of these while studying.. too busy and very hardworking guys that's why they are this big now.. underdogs has always sweet succes!! BigHit was extremely small to the south korean entertainment industry, it used to be like a one or two rented floors company at that time, and was near bankruptcy. BTS had to live in a small dorm with multiple other trainees, not only the BTS members, then they moved to that also small apartment with one bedroom for 7 people. These were all paid by the company. They didn't have much money for props or costumes for music videos and promotions like award shows. They would get almost zero airtime because the company was too small. When they went to the US, they made part of their first studio album in a garage with equipment they bought cause they didn't have money to rent a studio. Then, a friend of the CEO lent them their studio, where they finished the album. If you want a comparison, BigHit was at that time like a small indie label that makes short films and the other really big companies were like Disney or Warner Bros. It was a SMALL company, and the only reason they could get or do most of the stuff they did was because the CEO had some contacts/connections to people from the industry from his previous job, because if he hadn't then I don't think they would have near as much as they did, even if what they had wasn't much.
Today HYBE (BigHit) is the Disney of the S.K entertainment industry, and that's all thanks to BTS, period.

Well you seem like a 'glass half empty' kind of guy to me. You didn't say anything when it showed BTS sharing one bedroom in a small flat or hustling on the street to drum up people to attend a showcase but were quick to point out their 'fancy cameras and house' while filming for their staycation. You seem to be quite selective with the information you are taking from this video and want to disprove the bits which are positive and inspiring.
In conclusion, despite BTS large amount of content across 10 years, their music should be the main reason you want to listen/react. Good luck.💜
Sidenote: Suga was asked by Samsung to re-imagine their famous 'Over the Horizon' TWICE. He composed and produced these, they are both on TH-cam.

Whaaaat?? Even many artists and composers said that they produce their own music. I am not saying they are making every song they release but most of their Korean-lyric song. You can find the process and evidence in various video clip. Suga even used his own beat that he uploaded in yt 5years ago and make it into famous song name ‘ON’ in 2020. RM even wrote the melody for the most loved BTS song ‘Spring day’ while walking in the Seoul park. They were record producer mainly in early ages but now they grew up and developed their producing skills alot..! Wiki need some updates.😂

The company definitely backed them! But BTS too built the company (Hybe/Bighit) in to what it is today! Those fancy sets you see were only possible after BTS got famous, leading to the financial stability of the company, resulting in the company being able to provide them with all those fancy things! So, they did put in a lot of hard work to reach where they are today! It would be great if you could acknowledge that! Best Wishes!
P.S: I am an Indian and am an Army! If you know anything about Indian music and heard the names of the likes of AR Rahman and S.D.Barman, you would understand the tradition of "quality" music my country has! While I adore the music of my country, I also love BTS and their music, not just because they are good at it but also because who they are as people and the effect they had on my life (and many others I am sure) just by them being themselves! I wish more people could relate to them and experience the pure connection BTS has with Army! I bet the world would have been a better and happier place!

They worked hard to grow the company and to get where they are today. 10 years of hard work, and talent too. They continue to grow their skills even now. Also, they all continued their education and all have bachelor's degrees, I think some have master's degrees and some are still working on those. They are truly inspiring!

First you should know Korean society is very different to were you live, the way they see and aproch different subjects. They are more square and demanding, and artis can't enter the media or be famous without a firm or training.
I'm telling you this because it seems like you are down playing them, you're sensitive and taking in a personal way all their sucess.
The CEO of their company was a producer of other groups that later on formed his own company, but was small. It had 2 artis and a third group that failed and gave him a big debt, it was at this time that BTS debuted, so the company was struggling to survive.
The kpop is a business and many ask for loans to start and produce good content, and there is a huge competition, so many fail.
They were one of the many groups of small companys, but they succeded. What you see in the video is when they had more money and resorcess, it wasn't like that at the begining, their production was more simple.
Till this day there is 3 big companys that always sell well and all his artis are succesful and mainstrem, Hybe is now a conglomerate thanks to BTS and his CEO.
All the members compose, produce and co-produce their music, but they also have inside producers, this is the reason they have a diversity of music generes.

I don't know if you know, but anyone can put any information on wikipedia, including you and me... but it's possible to get information from the song credits themselves, and in addition, to be a full member of the korea copyright association, There are certain requirements, that's why Suga was able to turn before RM even though he had fewer songs ... rs

After watching this video I have some comments I want to make and you can read them if you are willing to learn :)
I think you missed the parts where it said that they literally started this with just filming vlogs themselves as their company was not big(it almost came close to bankruptcy actually and it showed the bedroom all 7 used to share). They just recorded and uploaded them unedited, even befor their debut. Then the Bangtan Bombs where it showed the members backstage doing silly things, no special cameras. The footage you referred to with special equipment like boom mic and helicopter is from one of their most recent shows so of course the company has the resource to provide them with such things now. All the fancy things you see near these men, they've worked their asses off for them. Nothing was handed that easily to them so I think there is a lesson here for most of us. Your comments regarding the fancy sets and equipment seemed a little envious and condescending( like: of course people enjoy them with all those great sets!). I'm not saying you don't have the right to be a little envious, of course it's all content creator's dream. just know that it was not like this from the start, fans enjoyed them as performers and people before anything. the fancy things came later.
Yes, the company had a big role in them becoming famous but it is in no way the only thing that made their fandom the size that it is right now.
The pandemic was a good way for them to connect with fans and a lot of people got to know them but they were already famous before that and they did lives even before that period.
About the band name: it also said in the video but I guess with the amount info it's ok that you missed it. their name in korean is Bangtan Sonyeondan which translates to Bulletproof Boyscouts.
Hans Zimmer and James Horner are score composers for films so of course their first titles are 'composer' on wikipedia, whereas BTS members are mainly rappers/singers and songwriters and producers. Also, let's just agree that Wikipedia is not the best source of info :)
South Korea has a lot of companies so young people go to auditions or are cast by them from schools or just on the street lol. It does not mean the company was that big. There were only 3 big Kpop companies at that time that ruled. This is why there was a shock when BTS started winning awards.
The part from j-Hope's song that you said reminded you of MJ is actually gospel choir that you may have been referring to.
As a conclusion, I don't know you personally, you might not be a flashy cheerful guy and be more reserved like Suga hehe but it did seem like this video was like a chore to you. If you are not wholeheartedly interested in them you can be honest(with yourself first). I know BTS has a great following and it's a great trend to react to them as it attracts views. Best of luck to you!

Hi, thanks for the reaction! 💜💜💜 The video is made by an Army ad If it's made by an Army is probably 90% correct. They ARE composers because they do their own music (some of them since 2013).
If you want to check you can see the Credits....
They debuted in 2013 but the group was formed since 2010 to 2012 (their trainee period).
Wikipedia is not accurate 100% but ARMYs are...The term "composer" indicates someone that creates his own music and they ALL do it (there are also other producers and composersint he company...).
Bts is one of a few Kpop group that have members that do their own music, and it's because they believe in art, so, most of them learnt it meanwhile being part of the group of BTS.
They will never do or say something that is agaist ART.
Big Hit was a very small company, but in Korean people that want to became Idols are A LOT...and it's not easy to enter in a Big 3 companys because the stardards they have. (some things are very different in Asia compared to America or Europe, even the facts that Suga is considerated "cold". It's because the culture differencies).
So, the members of BTS were not planned to became a Kpop group, they became a Kpop group because it was more convient. Big HIt really struggled financially.
I believe that meanwhile you are watching the Guide made by Taylor you will understand why BTS is so precious for Armys. It's because their talent of course, but MOSTLY because the human being they are. They are normal people like us. They gave all because of Armys and their love for arts. They are a GROUP that inspired people with their positivity (the fandom Army is made mostly of people over 35 y/o).
    Thanks you for the reaction!!

Points of clarification - the term “songwriter” in pop or rock refers to composing as well as lyrics. For instance, look up Paul McCartney or John Lennon on Wikipedia and you will see they are listed as songwriters, but we all know they composed their music.
BigHit - At the time BTS started there we’re over 1000 entertainment agencies in Korea of which BigHit was one of the smaller. The industry (media, tv networks) were controlled by the top 3 agencies making it very difficult and sometimes impossible for artists from other agencies to get air time. When you note the expensive equipment being used in some of their “TH-cam” productions, those were after they were multi-million dollar artists, outselling the likes of Drake, Justin Bieber, Arianna Grande etc. what’s impressive is that they continued doing all these things to stay connected to their fans, not only spending the money to do it, but taking the time. No other artists at their level are doing this, which is why they continually win top social artist awards.
Note of interest - Today BigHit Entertainment, now Hybe, is bigger than the former top 3 combined.

The amazing production cost that are catching your eyes are the most recent ones (meaning after 2017 to present) when they have gotten big. Please keep in mind that when they began in 2013, their company was in debt therefore the content quality was very different in comparison. They became popular and what they are now not only because their company invested back what they earned from each album and activities back to the group but because their fans also made a lot of effort in order to help boost the noise of their names.
You were not there to witness things from Day 1 or even in 2016 when a lot of OG fans like me were struggling to help the group enter the US market. Now, their physical albums are available in stores (online and offline) but there was a time when we had to organize campaigns in order for them to get proper distribution deals that would count towards charts.
All the success you're seeing, the high cost MVs and contents well produced are the result of more than 10 years of hard work from the bottom....and definitely not from a financially well supported group from the beginning.
FYI, because of BTS, Big Hit entertainment is now a huge corporation being traded publicly and their value has far exceeded the former Big3 all combined. This happened within the span of 10 years since they debuted, not overnight, but fast - which is why it's considered a Unicorn company.
But you definitely cannot just look at it solely from the point of view of someone who is so used to the normal system that you can't see and realize their beginning where they had to pinch every cent and work in a cramped room to produce music.

I can see him a bit of skeptical about BTS and thought that BTS is the same as other boyband in West..
He clearly don't know that Kpop is totally different from music industry in the West..
For your question at 44:08, before this, K-pop industry were dominated by the Big Three companies (SM,YG,JYP) which allowed their artists get more promotion and recognition than the small companies like Big Hit.. But to enter the Big 3, it's not that easy.. That's why many kids goes to small companies..
The most powerful and evil one among Big 3 is SM.. SM has put the strictest rules on their artists and there are some artists commit suicide (RIP to Jonghyun and Sulli).. SM don't really care about their artist's mental health..
However, BTS changed everything.. They came from the bottom and rise to the top with their effort and power of ARMYs.. BTS being successfully organically that they even get to help Big Hit (now under HYBE) from going bankruptcy.. @13:50 Bts did youtube with low budget at the beginning too. Its not an excuse to not work hard for them. They did their own vlog, recording in the garage and borrow props as well. On top this, they have amazing personalities and the best at everything they do. They have substance and they work hard to become the best version of themselves. They didn't take the lazy routes and no excuses.

We don't mind watching people react back-to-back to all their music videos (around 5 hours of content) so a documentary won't scare us 😂
Edited to add: BTS often mention their company when they talk about their success (both in interviews and in songs) because the company grew with them. When BTS debuted, BigHit was a small company with a few artists but their biggest asset was arguably their CEO, a well known (in South Korea) producer and lyricist. But BTS made it grow and their company is now a big conglomerate called HYBE which even owns the American company which manages Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande
That's why they now can afford get in an helicopter in New Zealand or rent and renovate a holiday home just for one of their online shows

ok thank u for your reaction! Big Hit was a small agency, this video shows new and old clips. I think you need to understand where bts are coming from. kpop industry works in a very different way from American industry, for example generally companies recruit idols on the street or hold auditions, but above all they have a period of trainee before debuting. Its a very common system in all companies...even the smallest ones. Oh yes, it is true that now they have much more production and everything seems more fancy...but very often Army's favorite videos (especially for the RUN bts), are the older ones or those where there is not much production but only their seven who "betray" each other for a $10 cupon. In the end we love to see them happy joking, with or without big money production.
I hope you have a chance to continue your bts journey. I appreciate your honesty. Please keep an open mind, they are not the classic stereotype but people who have worked really hard to achieve their goals.

I tried giving your reactions a chance, but to be honest I’ve never come across someone with as big a chip on their shoulder as you. You already have a firm idea in your mind as to who or what BTS is and it seems no amount of introduction videos will change that ignorance, because you are only seeing what you want to see. You completely missed over the fact that these boys started with nothing, the fancy boom mics & cameras came after years of working hard and climbing their way to the top, nothing was handed to them that they didn’t earn.

I search and search, if i get to some good point I'll start to change it, no hard feeling, even i can be wrong:)
Why should we like something to be liked by others ? No point in it right?
We should go for some profound personal research and at the end of the day we should be honest with ourselves. If we are mature enough we can accept the change. But if we constantly afraid of getting harsh critics and we change our POV there will be no true idea ever :)

    • @trinamc76
      @trinamc76 ปีที่แล้ว +3

@@Cyrusyami Well, as a man of science, how come are you ignoring certain facts and making lots of assumptions? Why did you gloss over the fact that they started filming vlogs with basic cameras in a tiny recording studio and jump to the fact that they now have fancy camera equipment and boom mics, and insinuated that that is the reason they are famous? Expensive equipment? Really? And I’ll say one thing, even if it was the case that their company pumped money into their success, which they didn’t, if anything it is BTS which made their company successful not the other way around, BTS themselves, their personalities, talent, hard working ethos, kindness and unwavering humbleness through everything is what drew their fans to them, and those fans being the most loyal, most diverse, and most in number, than the world has ever seen before. So as a man of science, maybe ask yourself why that is and with an open mind try to actually listen to the people explaining it to you. :) 💜

Lol....Any intelligent and seasoned online surfer would know that Wikipedia can be edited by any Tom, Dick or Harry and as such, it's not the most reliable source, esp on History. 13:37 my guy, this backyard pool scene was filmed in 2021. this whole facility, which had like three houses, a pool, and a tennis court, was literally built for them to spend a week in shooting this specific content called 'in the soop'. they are millionaires now, we all know that. no one thinks they are the ones turning the cameras and the lights on, they are supported by their company and staff. however they were the ones who made that company have any success. bighit entertainment was near bankruptcy before bts, and even after they had debuted, two years later bts thought they were having their last song/album, because the company was doing bad financially. however that one song that was supposed to be the last was a hit and they managed to continue. now they have access to all of the production cost you mentioned BECAUSE OF BTS, because they generated so much profit, it was a fruitition of their work and their talent, but it was not at all fancy like this from the start. they have worked their asses off to get to this point, which i'm sure you are aware of by now. if you're gonna be salty about their success and keep judging them, and us, it's better to just not make videos about them.

I'm late but this is just a correction, "Record Producer" is not the same thing as "Recording Producer".
"Record Producer" is the same as "Song Producer", since record means the song, not recording :)
Record producer also includes the composer part as well, since composers aren't often listed in credits separately and are listed as producers, at least in South Korea.
On the other hand if you look at the credits for other kpop groups that do their own music, "composer" in the credits often means they made the melody and a producer turned it into music or something similar.

so..... i´m not trying to be mean, but you are fact checkin in Wikipedia....WIKIPEDIA! just go see the credits of production and song writing in their albums itself or in more trustworthy sources... and you will see that they are actually producers and composers of their songs
P:S. Even in Wikipedia, if you search for a song of BTS, some member will pop up as either song writer and/or producer. (dont´t put all judgement in the fist 3 sentences in what a - not so good - web site says.
P.S.2... both James Horner and Hans Zimmer are movie SCORE composers... very different...

Thank you for reacting to our boys. However, after reading some of the comments from our fellow ARMYs, I don’t feel like continuing to watch the reaction. In the first 10mins, your expression makes me feel like indeed you have some prejudice and skepticism about the information shown in the video that was made by our wonderful ARMY (Taylor). Also read some comments that you didn’t seem to trust the information in the video and went to look up on Wiki. Sigh… I just want to say that if you want to continue to learn more about our boys, I am glad but I hope you keep an open mind and humility to learn about a music industry and a group that you’re not familiar with.
For BTS, you need to trust ARMYs with the information that they provide you and guide you with. As said, of course I’ll be happy if you are genuinely interested to learn about our boys.
    Thank you for reacting.

  • @xamified4432
    @xamified4432 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Dude, composing is the most basic of song production 😂 Producers and songwriters can already be considered composers because they create music. That's already a given actually. Even artists or your everyday person can become one if they hum a melody and have it published (and credited by a music association, this is the important part). So most of the time, even artists who don't write their own songs are credited as composers because they suggest changes in the music (like tempo, melody, or ambiance effects). In older times, composers had a bigger connotation because there was no such thing as digital production, but nowadays, producers are attributed as the ones with the biggest contribution and direction within a piece of music. This is not to say that composers are any less though, as most of them are truly knowledgeable musicians with lots of contributions, it's just easier to be credited as one nowadays.
Just trying to give additional info that I learned while studying music prod. Again, these standards are only applicable to modern music and not classical. Basically, anyone who can "create" music is a composer.
Won't add a lot of comments about BTS since I know other ARMY got that already 💜. I think that people that don't appreciate them are just not ready to become better people tbh. 😂 Harsh? Maybe, but I've seen what they can do for people (and even those who aren't fans, but recognize and respect them as genuine people).
As I always say with new BTS reactors, keep an open mind, open heart, and be careful with your words. Not to hold back or lie though, be frank, but consider that some words have bad interpretations, this is not only for reacting online but also in everyday life. What may seem like a lighthearted joke to you may be the worst and most offensive thing to other people. If you don't know what it is, then study it, I really recommend it if you plan to continue doing youtube tbh. People used to be able to just be accepted for the bare minimum, but nowadays, people on the internet are more discerning. You might get clout at the start if you're like that, but building a lasting audience is to find the middle ground for everyone and yourself. It's just the basics of communication nowadays, you can search for bias-free communication/language on google.

Do not rely on wikipedia too much. Composers are people who writes music...which BTS does. They've been writing their own music since before they debuted. And some with the help of their in house producers.

Bighit was small. Only 3 out of 7 of them really auditioned for bts. The only reason j-hope did audition was because all the bigger companies rejected him, so he went for a smaller one after someone recommended it.
They can afford the things they show on their variety show bc they worked for it for years. They've been around for nearly a decade. They are the reason the company is one of the biggest company’s in Korea now. Most of the clips shown were from 2020, but before that they didn’t have the luxury they do now.
And yes all of them are composers, songwriters and producers for their own projects, so their solo work. But the rappers do most of their group work. RM is just the main songwriter, and Suga is the main producer. That doesn’t take away the fact that all of them do it. The video you watch is more accurate than Wikipedia. Anyone can create Wikipedia, and the video you watch is done by ARMY. You are better off looking at the songs' credits. It might be hard to believe, but they do everything. Of course, there are other producers and composers in every songs.

Personally, when you was talking about how they have the money to create good content, I think the money has very little to do with it, us Army’s would probably be happy enough to sit and watch them talk, which is proved when we watch them go live. I think you can make good content if you are a good person, are a likeable person and you are just entertaining in general. Which they are. It’s great that they have resources to go to nice places. But it’s not the company that’s resourcing that. Their company was small and BTS were the ones who gave the company the name it is today. BTS could afford all of that if they wanted to out of their own pocket, but cuz they are within a company, it’s obviously not as easy. But yeah my point is that you don’t need money to create good content, it’s yourself as a person who can make good content
