Guys, if you ever get the chance to visit, I had a ton of fun in Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic. The people were great, and the sites keep you interested. I met some really nice Ex-Pats living there.
One thing I plan to do to when we cruise is to ferment many many fresh vegetables in salt brine or pickle in vinegar. Good for making fresh last and really good for the microbiome. Once refrigeration became mainstream in the early 1900s, this method of food preservation became less common in industrialized countries, and there is an unintended consequence of ingesting fewer healthy gut buddies.
Oh man, the more we read your comments, we could have talked for days at the Annapolis boat show! We are now fermenting kimchi and sauerkraut 💪 good gut buggies.
I actually had a raging case of type II diabetes about 4 years ago and was able to reverse it by eliminating carbs, especially grains, and by doing intermittent fasting. I've studied lots of dietary and health information since then. Lately we've been off the wagon and eating pretty much Paleo but are about to go back on keto later this week.
Ah the calm before the storm. I'll be back in Ft. Pierce in October. Not with the boat though, but just to work. I still cant believe yall have gone so far. It seems like just yesterday Kika was swinging from the silk across from Riverside too. You guys Rock !!!!
if you are speaking of after we took on water, i have no idea. Brandy watched as the engine sloshed around in the water as she was bailing out. The water level didn't hit the batteries, they are pretty high elevated.
guys, like I said before I'm loving to watch your guys videos, but I guess you guys already figured out that I am a little curious and I need to ask you something. When you guys are sailing for a kind long period of time like 5, 6 or 7 days, do you have a little room in the boat, to trow some water on top of you guys, because over there is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hot! Do you mind to answer this question? please and thank you
Good thing you can't see me as my longest dreadlock is touching the back of my knee. You're doing a great job of finding your way through this first year cruising. Highest Blessings
You sailing to Bahia De las Aguilas in pedernales Dominican Republic. Translate= Eagle Bay. Beautifull place Bahia de las Aguilas but still virgin is not developed for tourism yet Bahia de las Aguilas is in the Dominican Republic very Close to Haiti. Keep up and enjoy you trip to The beautifull Puerto Rico. God bless you
Hey Brandy and Beau! Watched your live feed just a couple hours ago. Hope all is going well for you and you are making progress on you hull repairs. Thank you for the new video. It was nice to see that you had some nice sailing before the adventure on your way to Granada. Bless you both and Oona and have a great week ahead.
Hi guys. Do yourself a faver and install a self steering wind vane and an autopilot. when you got sails up, the wid vane uses no power at all. dose not have to be brand new. when motoring the autopilot comes in effect as theres no wind. but both will complement and make life on board lot easyer for both of you. Gerard.
Believe us, we would LOVE to have a wind vane. And we have been looking for a used one, but unfortunately it just moved down the list bc of the repairs. Thank goodness we are in the chain of islands now, so not too many long sails. so hand steering will have to do until we can save up :)
G'day Dan. I am an australian and as such as the idear is ok by you, the proplem for me is the exchange rate dose not justtify any funding at all as it would be chopped up through by the exchange and taxes plus tarrfs if any aply. It is thogh a nice thought. thank you for understanding. Gerard.
@@danieloliver20 Hi Dan. Just read up your reply. The problem for me is the same asin the uk. If you came fot a holiday hear you would nearlt duble your money. A accociate of mine went to the us for a holiday and allmost lost just over halve of ther spending. Thats the main reson many Australians do not go overseas. My sister proved that when at christmas, she when to norway and i had give her extera money to stay with her son who now lives there so i am still resaving that back. and i am on disabilty pen i do not get a great deal from ower gov in payment. Sorry. Gerard.
How wonderful was it that Kika & Dan had given you that spare sail? Safe travels. ❤

How did your engine and batteries survive?
