I have 2 CPU cooler fans with 3+4pin adapters and 6 fans with 6pin adaptor. I was using 2 different argb kits that didn't sync well, and because of your video I'm able to convert 6pin into 3 + 2 pin, I used jumper male to female wires, and now all the fans are in 1 single coolmoon argb kit and syncing well. Great job. 👍🏼
Excelente video y único que detalla bien los pasos, me funciono y pude convertir mis ventiladores de 6 pines y adaptarlos a una controlada argb de 3pines gracias a los esquemas mostrados y la explicación.
Would it work to use pins 1+4 instead of 1+2 of the fan PWM header in order to control the fan speed from the Mainboard? Edit: Tested it on my coolmoon fan and it works like a charm. So PWM control is no problem.
@@joeSD97 I simply connected the + cable of the fan to pin 4 (control) of the connector. PWM works by using intervals (I don't know what intervals Mainboards use for that but let's say 0.1 second) and supplying a voltage (in this case: 12V) for a percentage of the interval. So if you want to give half the power you supply 12V for 0.05 seconds and 0V for 0.05 seconds and that evens out at 6V (half the voltage) If you want to read up in-depth about that I would recommend googling the topic.
The 6pin controller is more cheap than 3pin argb + 4pin PWM controller, it's because the 3+4 is have 4pin data in from motherboard, so the controller can automatic sent the data PWM to fan. It's right???
Hi, i am using aorus b570 pro with 12 grb 4pin header. And i have UPHERE pc fan with 6 pin header with controller. Im having a problem on how to connect it from my mobo led port.what connectors do i need to buy?
you must have 5v ARGB controller on your board, by right it should have. Installing 5v ARGB controller on 12V ARGB port on motherboard, it will surely burn your controller (and possibly damaging your motherboard).
i just want to power my 240 mm fan. it has a 6 pin connector and i want to plug it into a 3 or 4 pin header on my mobo. i cut the 2 wires and connected them to an old fan connector and when i plugged it in it doesnt work. what did i do wrong?
very good video !!! I have another problem, my CPU fan (gamma 500 RGB), it has 2 connectors a standard PWM that already connects without problem to the motherboard (RPMs and power OK) but also has a 4-pin RGB connector (12v, R, G, B) and my RGB controller is the common 6-pin (my motherboard is very old and has nothing with RGB). How could you solve this problem? The fan works without problem but I have no RGB, in the worst case I would like to leave it fixed in red color. Please your help.

12v argb controller only works with 12v argb port on motherboard. 5v argb controller only works with 5v argb port on motherboard. You're supposed not to mix it up.

A 3-pin fan connector can be used, since the wires to power on the fan is only using 2 wires (12v & ground) . Check the diagram on the video for further details.
@@Z3RO94EsP i need to clarify, what is not working, the led or the fan not working or both? Are you having issue with the connector for coolmoons rgb or the fan not spinning?

So, which cable I have to connect in the controller box and then to the motherboard..... Because I really want to control fans from the motherboarnd and not only the remote control!!! Thanks!!

If you have the stock controller you can use it to control the speed as it uses PWM (Pulse Wave Modulation) to control fan speed. Just connect the ground and 12V wire into its corresponding location on the original controller and use the included remote.
the only way to control fan speed is if your fan have two separate ports (one PWM and one ARGB header), instead of merged 6-pin header. And ARGB headers are connected to ARGB hub, PWM headers connected to PWM hub. that way, you can control the speed and argb independently.
I have 6 pin fan hub, is it okay to connect my 4 pin fan without rgb to it for speed control purposes. Since my mobo dont have any other socket for me to connect.

As a bonus, a 3-pin fan connector will still fit onto a 4-pin header. Handy if you don't fancy butchering your 4-pin fans for them.

Hello, could you elaborate more about how did you do it?
Because, if you dont use the Number "2" pin, how do you supply the 12V to the fan?
