- The Brunswick Ethos has a brand new symmetrical core design and Savvy Hook 4.0 cover... of course it comes with HK22! Let's see what this one does out on the lanes!
With the help of SPECTO data, it'll help tell the story about reaction shape, overall hook and continuation through the pins. Here are the SPECTO data points used and definition of each term:
Launch Speed - Speed measured off the hand.
Entry Speed - Speed measured at the pins. (What you'd see on your home center MPH screens)
Rev Rate - Revolutions Per Minute (RPM)
Launch Angle - The angle the ball traveled the first 10 feet.
Break Point Position - Board at which the ball was at its outermost position.
Total Hook - Total number of boards the ball crosses on the way to the pins.
Hook Power - Number of boards the ball hooked based on the True Breakpoint.
Entry Angle - The angle of the ball between 51 and 55 feet.
Impact Angle - The angle of the ball between 57 and 59.5 feet.
Pin Deck Exit - Ball position at the end of the pin deck.

This ball looks amazing! Brunswick Family of Bowling are crushing it! Thanks Nick.
I appreciate you taking the time to throw a few with the breakpoint further in. For some of us, knowing how strong the cover is plays just as much into making ball choices as core strength' especially considering they say covers are 70% of ball reaction. Even though you mentioned it was not the optimal place to throw it at that moment; the fact that it hit flush and continued through the 8 pin speaks volume as to the strength of this ball. Appreciate the reviews as always Nick and already look forward to the next one!
the shape motion reminds me of the CLASSIC ZONE !!!
I'm ready to pull the trigger on the Envy tour pearl and then this comes out... exactly what I need to fill my sym gap, so thanks for confirming
Super smooth and continuous!! Melee core on steroids!! Great job Nick!!
Brunswick Purple Rhino Pro 🦏
That was such a great ball, I wish they would bring that back like they did the Teal
Another great review!
Already ordered my Ethos 😍 can't wait to throw it :D
Fury core and Inferno (also whatever was in the Fuze Eliminator)
Nick didn’t they have a 3.0 savvy on a different ball ? In Brunswick family? 1:45 dang Nick that almost went Brooklyn 2:26 my fav symmetry core would be the diva core 4:05 flip block Nick or cover skid flip as the diva? Can’t wait for this ball. 5:47 hit them thin and watch them spin. Love it man this ball is ridiculous. Dude Nick that ball is sick
I think Savvy 3.0 was original Knock Out off the top of my head without looking it up. Skid flip cover will always do more than flip block.
Favourite is the Melee Jab Blood Red. Ethos looks great.
You almost looked like Bob Handley !!! Now I’m showing my age! Good video Nick
Hookin Bob Handley!
I own a brunswick python the ball is definitely a beast with the enmotion cover n the updated inferno core
The Inferno core is my hands down favorite.
Favorite Brunsiwick Core - I have two: Quantum Mushroom & Melee Jab.
Nick, as a Rep, you may not be able to say, but do you have a favorite Brunswick core?
@BowlerJ1 all time, sure. Probably Zone Classic Core.
The ball looks great, I"m hoping it turns out reviewed well. I like the Melle Jab core.
Cool video talk tech bowling bowling ball
I’m VERY eager to see you do a ball review on the Perfect Mindset
i love mine!
Favorite sym. Absolute inferno
My Fury pearl is still my favourite ball with its it twist core.
Melee jab is my favorite
Nick this is the first ball from Brunswick that does not have a generic core at 13lb
The 13 core is 2.51 0.047
I have to throw 13 now so having a lower RG core is a real bonus
Is this something that is going to carry over to other releases or is it just for this ball
Love your videos
Best out there 👍
@@CoxyboysCoxy-zr7gk thank you! And not usually no, depends a lot on core shape if it’s possible to do or not.
How does the ethos compare to the midnight blue jab or jab carbon?
Ball looks good! Seeing it swing and drive was kind of expected with HK22, but the shot at 6:38 stood out as it was in the oil longer. Thought it might deflect but it bulldozed through the rack. Similar specs to the Stealth Pearl, but appeared to be a tad cleaner (splitting hairs tbh) -- where would you place it amongst the recent HK22 Sym Pearl releases?
Between Crypto Boom and Stealth Pearl
Honeycomb or Inferno core
Brunswick Quantum Forest solid.
Tommy Hudson LT-51❤️❤️❤️
BrunsNick aims for 12 board, but Ethos says No, and continues to the 5 board anyway. The ball knows what it likes.
Pretty much. Gotta let it fly!
ARE WE GETTING A BRUNSWICK PATHOS AND LOGOS??
Nick, I have a Quantum Evo Pearl which is my move left and send it right ball. I am looking to get a ball that I can get deeper and swing on THS. Would this ball work or the would the Hybrid 2.0 be better?
Sometimes if they’re dry enough, symmetricals can be the better option to swing.
I love the review but i need to know what oil patern you are bowling on
Crown Jewel 43’ 13:1 22.5 units. Usually put that info and graph in each review. Must have missed it this one
Is the Ethos replacing the Melee Jab series?
Hard to say. Maybe Jabs/Knock Outs needed a refresher.
How does it compare to a stealth pearl?
Close. Feels a touch cleaner though.
Turn and burn, Mav!
How does this compare to the ebonite fireball
Stronger. Way more flare.
@brunsnick Nick, I use 13's and noticed on the Brunswick Info Sheet that the 13's are 13 2.51 .047. Is this correct or a misprint? Thanks Scott
That’s correct. 12-13lb uses a lightweight version of the core.
@@brunsnick Thanks Nick. The generic core or whatever is used seems quite low RG for a 13 lb. ball. 13 2.51 .047 Lower than I have ever seen for a 13 lb'er. That is why I asked. Thanks again! Scott
It’s correct. That core is different than the other lighter weight cores. It’s smaller but still dense.
@@brunsnick Great to hear and this should be pushed as as far as I know the lowest RG core in 13 lb. equipment which is lacking for all 13 lb. balls quite an advantage! Scott
Just got this ball in the mail and now I'm nervous the lanes aren't so fresh when we're on them because another league rolls before us, how can I lay it out to be just a smidge weaker? or are my concerns not valid?
It’s a cleaner cover symmetrical so you should be okay. Just talk to your pro shop and let them help you get the right layout. Let them know where and how you plan to use it and they will get it set up for your needs. 👍🏻
@@brunsnick unfortunately we don't have a pro shop at my local lanes, just a "ball guy" but I'm sure he'll set me straight. Thanks for the quick reply!
The ethos core looks like an upside down melee core.
Nick, how does this compare to the Crypto Boom?
Stronger for me. All on the back.
Pin up or pin down ? If you produce more Revs than speed
I don’t recommend pin down layouts on symmetricals. It could work in your situation but it’ll be best to consult your pro shop who is familiar with your game. 👍🏻
Is the Ethos stronger or weaker than the GB4 Hybrid?
I think it’s cleaner with more on the back.
Fanatic ss core had 33 In a row
Portal Core (Prism Hybrid)
I just realized you said symmetrical core 😅
Slap HK22 on Teal Rhino Pro and make it Gold Rhino Pro
Jab Evolved >:)
