I did this trail Saturday after all the rain we’ve had and it was the most miserable ride I’ve ever done😂 glad it was a good one for you and keep it up with the channel bud
@rdogs1 thank you mate…. As i was riding at I was thinking this would be very boggy if wet. Give it another go when it’s dry…. I thought it was a cracking ride. …….. in the dry 😂👊🏻.
Late to the party on this, looks a great run Rob; what it shows is one of the best bits of eMTBs for me which is their ability to power through the rough stuff when climbing; get the cadence right and they just keep the momentum. That moor was about a bleak as you can get 😀 As for tyres I run High Rollers (no laughing at the back) on my Capra in the summer; that said in the dry the front has been ok, rear not so. I use Hans Dampf (I have a Mary but I'm less convinced) all round in the Winter, used them on my previous bikes. Also have a Minion DHF which I reckon I could run all year (really like it), have it on at the moment. My Whyte E bike has an Assigai/Minion DHR combo. Been spot on in the dry and was pretty good on the first slitherfest I encountered on Saturday but we'll see how it goes. Never liked any Bonty's, ditched the ones on my old Trek Remedy quite soon, just a trail centre tyre but that was a fair few years ago. + one for Merlin Cycles and tyre deals
@@preachblue hello mate, it was a really good loop, one which I would highly recommend 🤘🏻. Tyre wise I went with Minion Dhf on the front as I thought they will be a good all rounder😃. And shorty on the back. It seems to be a good combo and it really has built my confidence since getting rid of the Bontys 😂.
Well done on weight loss. Done better than us :) The go to for a lot of people was always Magic Mary up front and Hans Dampf at bank. Looks like another great route
@@OnTheRoadAgain-NikkiandBilly thanks….. so hard been on a diet 😂. Yep it was a good route….but deffo a dry weather ride. I’ve ordered some new tires today…. I hope I made the right choice. I’ll review them on my next vid. 👊🏻

@Rob, awesome looking route in fantastic scenery and a brilliant video pal, such a varied landscape, with regards to tyres I’d recommend Maxxis Minion DHF in double down Maxx Tera casing if I’ve spelled that correctly lol and Maxxis Shorty in the same casing, you can run them both at low pressure and they squirm over river rocks and grip like 💩 to a blanket pal 😉👍
@@yorkneytrailrider1751 hello Sean…. Was a cracking Route. Thanks for the recommendation on Tyres Pal.. I deffo need some, nearly came off today because of the lack of grip 😂.
No worries pal, been there and it’s not good even though I did laugh but that’s just my warped sense of humour, no seriously good tyres for all conditions is important and I’ve always used Maxxis for years now and they haven’t let me down, congratulations on the weight loss too Rob, I know from personal experience it’s not easy to loose weight especially when we start to get a few years behind us, I lost nearly 7 stone to get my bike but since the beginning of this year I’ve put 3 back on, 1 recently because of the trauma I’ve suffered and the medication I’m on ☹️☹️
@yorkneytrailrider1751 wow 7 stone…. That’s amazing 🤩. Don’t beat yourself up about putting a bit back on though, specially because of the medication….. 👊🏻👍
Hi Rob 👋 another great video. With regards to the tyre recommendations you will probably be inundated with suggestions cos everyone has their favourites. Here's what I have on my Rail front and rear Maxxis Assegia 2.6 running @ 18psi phenomenal grip. You are right about the tyres that come with the bike "TERRIBLE". Keep up the good work buddy 😊
@@thesmug thanks for the Tyre recommendation mate. And thanks for the kind words 😎👊🏻. Yep the stock tyres are awful and I can’t believe I haven’t changed them… probably money…. But I nearly came off today at speed because of the lack of grip.
@@ridemoreworkless yes mate it’s prefect for me…. I just need it for navigation. I’m not into all this heart rate stuff! It’s a black and white screen, but again….. so what!
