Not sure how to share it but I have a route for an epic (27mi) ride which starts at lordstones and ends up on your clay bank to lordstones section on the way back. Brilliant mix of singletrack, DH, technical sections and gravel tracks (for a rest 😂) I tried posting Strava link here but it seems to have been deleted or intercepted

@@Wingnut65 hello mate. The section from Clay bank car park to lord stones car park is parallel to the Cleveland way. The Cleveland way in the section runs over the tops of the hills and this was the low road so to speak. Ha, I was luck and landed in the only soft part of the whole ride 😂😂.

Looked like you got waylaid dropping into Skugdale. It’s hard to find a non bog fest way down without using the Cleveland way. I prefer to carry on at the same elevation as Claybank to Lordstones along the front of the hills. You can then drop into Swainby past the castle to the Rusty Bike for a refuel before heading back.

@@gattoflyer 100% mate. I take my hat off to people who can do that route on a normal one, I’ve seen TH-cam videos of it and I couldn’t do it 😩.

I turned off the setting on Garmin that automatically re routes you when you go off course, otherwise you end up turning back to the last waypoint and end up going round in circles. So turn off that setting and if you go off course you can see it on the map straight away. That was a game changer for me. There are loads of forums about it. Search Garmin keeps sending me off course or something like that. There is no need to subscribe to komoot and even if you do, one wrong turn still results in you going of course and it automatically trying to reroute you back to the last waypoint if you don’t turn that setting off. I hated my Garmin at first but once I turned that setting off I was happy as a pig in 💩. Thanks for your kind words about sonya…. She is getting better bit by bit each day and recovering well.

Thanks, struggling to find that setting but I'll keep looking. Tbh most the setting titles aren't clear what they do. And is there any way to make the page move when your icon goes off screen?

@ try this mate…..1.Select Menu 2.Select Settings 3.Select Activity Profiles 4. Select a profile 5. Select Navigation 6. Select Routing Disable the automatic recalculation feature I’ve got mine as prompted. It will ask me if I want to recalculate the route and I always put no, the map is then showing on the screen and I follow the line till it says I’m back on route.

@Sticky-gp2yh I’ve just posted where to find the settings but TH-cam is playing up… you will probably get the message 4 times 😂
