    Hi Shawn just a quick message to say how your videos are changing the way i play and now also my bro in law! He used to aim way left with the driver at setup to accommodate for his huge slice now after i told him to watch your videos i played with him yesterday and he was drawing the most beautiful drives it was unreal and really made our day. Thank You form us both

    Again Shawn thanks for the refresher. Was hitting balls today and was doing the exact opposite. Trying to hit the ball, r hand dominant and no waiting for the arm club unit to flow in sequence through the swing. Goldilocks was there..intermediate point, distance to ball, takeaway to match the shot shape, head tilt, then....lookout here comes the r side out of sequence. No compression ->Slice, shank or compensation pull to the left. Shoulder sore and back aches. Watching your swing is a treat. So effortless. You know how much and how too.

      Remember our backswing series we did? How we did the PMD wide in both directions? Fall into the backswing and let the arms get pulled away from the body and rise up high like Davis Love, then the loaded arm unit falls through the stem of the dandelion and releases wide into the picture (direction you wanted to start the ball)
      Fall into a snap-load-levitate up, fall into a snap reload levitate up.
      Lumberjack lets the axe fall into the side of the tree-body glides out of the way to allow...
      Enjoy the next session! Shawn

    Great. What helps me to stay relaxed is to lift left heal, allow arms to bend, do not keep your head down but instead go with the flow. Mindset is to not focus on length. Rather chose the right club.

    I learned golf in the late 80s-90s where you were told to be solid in the lower half, and now playing just once a week i'm out with lower back pain. Now rather than researching what is the best driver, i'm learning about body mechanics lol

      Well, while everyone was busy throwing their backs out, we were showing students to bust their drives far with no back strain; see “lower body in the backswing shawn clement” and be introduced to Skully! Jack Nicklaus, Tom Watson, Hale Irwin, Sam Snead, Bobby Jones; those are the guys you want to emulate! We are built for doing what you are about to see! 😀👍

    Arthritis and scar tissue in lower back due to L1 ruptured and surgery almost 20 years ago. Now also have a couple bulging docs L3 L3. Senior here and my back stays sore but allowing a turn like you should do let’s me play without additional pain. The modern day swing and positions golf will cut the young players careers in half, look at Michelle Wie, Tiger and others, their body are a wreck thanks to these people like Jim McLean and his so called X factor nonsense. Keep up the good work.

    Can you please do a WITB Shawn, I'm a lefty that can swing it as a righty but not as controlled. I as create more speed as a righty (+10 mph driver compared to as a lefty), but can't work out why this is. Loving your teachings, can't get enough, thank you.

      My odd numbers are right; my even numbers are left; simply alternate.
      At first, just like you, there was a difference! Same one too; but as I continued, the distance morphed to same on both and instead of both odd numbers on both sides, I had to switch to odd and even. Keep doing both, you learn so much more!!! I would not be the teacher I am today had I not done this, not even close!!!

    curious on your thoughts shawn about same length clubs. i have been a follower of yours for a couple years and you have helped my game immensely. i am working towards a hybrid of your flow and task management coupled with a single plane/moe norman swing. wondered if same length clubs would be an asset or not.. thanks again for all the help!!

    Two questions Shawn: Firstly, just curious but why do you do not play with all right or all left handed clubs? Secondly and more importantly, what are thoughts on Milo Lines (instructor) golf swing where he advocates the safest golf swing for the back by keeping arms and body together and a big rotation (like Ben Hogan)? I tried it and I have hurt my lower back on the right side because of the follow through with a side bent over back, however I am 71.? Personally, I think for my age, I would be better with an arm type swing like you advocate.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Robert! Hogan did NOT swing that way and it is a shame they still teach that as this IS NOT ANATOMICALLY CORRECT FOR THE HUMAN MACHINE!! The reason for the body turn is to create width for the arm swing. See an oldie but goodie video called “arm-swing vs body turn shawn clement” and “free swinging arms shawn clement”
      We do this in Boxing, Baseball pitching and hitting, tennis, bowling, using an axe (see “sledge hammer axe drill shawn clement”)
      The best thing for you after that is to get on our premium channel at www.wisdomingolfpremium.com and start with the “senior series” and then see the list of videos by date and work your way from the bottom up.

    You came so close! Good info if you have back issues; good info if the right hip/leg/knee is the problem. Unfortunately, I have a severely arthritic left hip and knee, making it difficult (impossible?) to get to my left side in the down/through swing (I'm a right-handed golfer). Is my only solution to learn how to play left-handed? Just wondering.

    Another great video, Shawn, as I've had to play with back issues before, and it's a pain sometimes! Question: I've used your technique of thinking of "task/target", and have finally gotten over the hump with my irons, although somewhat inconsistent (but better). However, the problem I have is when I go to my driver, I become ball-bound, and spray the ball every which way. There are a few instances where I relax, and swing through the ball to a target, hitting it pretty well, but it is a minority of the time, and very inconsistent. This is becoming increasingly frustrating for me, and it is, for whatever reason, extremely difficult for me to employ that technique with the driver. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    • @golflessons
      @golflessons  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      OMG ABSOLUTELY!!! THE STUPIDEST THING EVER TAUGHT IS PUT A HEAD COVER UNDER YOUR ARMPIT; We call it T-Rex golf! You would not serve a tennis ball, hit a baseball, throw a ball, or do anything else in life with a connected arm-pit. If your target is the golf ball, you have to come over the top like a lumberjack splitting wood but if your task is to send a ball to a target, then over the top is IMPOSSIBLE!!!!!! Like a lumberjack cutting down a tree…oh, and swinging an axe to cut a tree does not include stuffing head covers under arm-pits!

    You have done more for my golf than macro evolution could ever do. Millions of years of evolution. Ah yes, all of those beneficial DNA mutations that happen all the time.. deformities, death, etc. The only thing beneficial about anything is the biomechanism that fixes mutated DNA. But they didn't teach you that in bio 2. I'm not going to ask for your evidence or hold anything against you for making that assertion bc I love you for at least attempting to alleviate my back pain. I was driving 310, hitting 4i 220, 8i 160, etc. But I am self taught and have rly damaged my back. Hoping this will help. Thanks
