Dale Jarrett had a total of 4 wins, 24 top five finishes, 29 top ten finishes, 13.2 average start, 6.8 average finish, 28 lead lap finishes, and only 1 DNF (at that year's season opener, the Daytona 500) during the 1999 season. He finished outside the Top 10 only five times in 34 races.
For whatever reason, I had a vivid childhood memory of Mike Skinner obnoxiously banging on the podium during his speech. Until now, I had no way to verify whether this actually happened. Turns out it did!
Bobby Labonte was the best! 1:08:11 consulting the toy car for sponsor recognition LOL. And from 1:08:35 I think Dale thought it was the funniest moment, too 😀 1:13:26 - the nickname, "Catfish"...on a broadcast nearly two years later, there were announcers saying, when did he get that name?
@@official_9101 When counting years you start with year 1, not year 0. The first decade ends at the end of year 10. The last decade of the 20th century must therefore end at the end of the year 2000. Therefore 2000 is the last year of the 20th century.
That was one of the greatest champions' speeches of all time by Dale Jarrett. He always did these awards speeches so well.
NASCAR had a lot of class back then…. Miss those days.
Dale sure nailed his shout out to Stewart & Dale Jr. Both won championships within a few years.

Probably doing it to help with nervousness, you got to remember some of these guys aren't used to public speaking.

December 3, 1999.

It kills me to see people who spend their time selling people lung cancer because they are literally addicted to their products.
R u ok?
Dale Jarrett was not the last driver of the 20th century. Bobby Labonte was. Ya'll need to learn how to count.
Your wrong 1999 was the last year of the century

@J.B24 Yeah I always regard 1990 as the best year of the 80s....
@@MrBurney12 You would be correct. 1990 ends the 80s.
Dale, what happened to your tuxedo buddy?
Füçking weirdo u are
You know the sport in mainstream when Mike Tirico is hosting. Now a days NASCAR is less popular than Soccer and WNBA. Sad
Wow
