Steering +5, Aero +5 and to top it off Ridhide +5. Don't even need to touch the other settings.
But yeah in case you forgot, dear Theo, or won't bother reading the explanations:
Steering: + = oversteer, -- = understeer
Handling: + = grip (don't too to much or you get slowed down too hard during corners), -- = slidng (not drifting doe...)
Brakes: + = front, -- = rear , self exlpaining, i guess
Aero: Downforce. More downforce = more grip but less topspeed (+ = more, -- = less)
Ridhide: lower ride = better handling but you will feel every focking crack in the road! (+ = higher, -- = lower)
NItro: + = duration, -- = power
Turbo/Supercharger: + = top speed, -- = acceleration
Hope that clarifies it a bit ^^

Rideheight + = better offroad
Nitro = + power - duration
Turbo/supercharger = - Top Speed + better acceleration out of corners
Aero = + faster cornering speeds but slower top speed
BTW: in this game the automatic gear box doesn't affect anything so automatic is basically manual
I've seen that the turbo/supercharger: -- = more boost at lower rpms (reduces the rpm the boost covers) + = more boost at higher rpm (increases the rpm the boost covers)

In NFS Most Wanted, you can raise the ride height and it gives a grip advantage and it won't slow you down on Grass, opening up much more shortcuts and making you quicker overall. The same applies to Aerodynamics, it gives you considerably more grip but the game doesn't take drag into account, thus making you have even more grip with no downside.

increasing aero makes you turn better, increasing handling makes you more grippy but it can fuck up the turning circle, increasing brakes will get the bias more up front this should help out
CakeJake3162 i'll add this here, increasing the aero does make you grip better but the top speed of the car suffers a little bit
increasing aero can help with cornering but also increases drag

It's crazy how bad you are... 9 year old me had no troubles with these races...
Although then again 9 year old me knew how to manage my nos and wasn't running on empty throughout the entire race so I had no issues catching up from the worst of crashes.
im pretty sure steering is understeer/overstreer, handling is probably also understeer/overstreer (roll bars and stuff), brakes are front/back bias, aerodynamics are the downforce you get, nitrous is the jetting flow rate and turbo setting most likely changes when the turbo is most active, high rpm or low rpm.
It's really fun seeing you lose your mind about those speed traps XD

In Texas there are some speed limit signs that say maintain your vehicle, so you can go as fast as you want

There are 130 kph (81 mph) signs in Australia. They used to be unlimited, but a lambo crashed at 300 kph during a gumball race, so they limited it.
For tuning max out steering and aero for better cornering, max out the ride height for better stability in jumps and better speed off road, and don't really mess with handling, it slows you down and doesn't help

Upgrading the engine to the max w/ the transmission still being stock will cause the tach to hit the rev limiter really quickly. If you do the opposite, your car wouldn't have enough power to reach the higher gears and will take too long to accelerate.

I'm playing through Most Wanted right now with only the IS300, I'm currently on number 9.
You can sell the boss cars. I used to do it all the time so I could hype up whatever I was driving
a little glitch for the circuits is to the the quick races in the menu the to custom races and go to the one you are racing and click on it and switch to one lap then race it

HAHA wow cause that's how turbo works in real life. Such a good game but it certainly has its flaws. "Ah yes, amount of turbo=your gear ratio changing" except that's not how cars work. It's determined by the sizes of the gears.

the turbo setting is the gear ratio setting... Read the help text, it actually helps.
The turbo gives you better launch that's why it makes that noise when you shift...
