    -----------
    In this video, we compare two popular cybersecurity certifications: CompTIA Security+ and CySA+. If you are looking to start or advance your career in cybersecurity, this video will help you decide which certification is best for you. We break down the key differences, benefits, and job opportunities for each certification.
    We explain what CompTIA Security+ is. Security+ is an entry-level certification that covers the basics of cybersecurity. It includes topics like network security, risk management, and cryptography. This certification is ideal for beginners who want to get a solid foundation in cybersecurity. It is also a good choice for those who want to switch to a cybersecurity career in a different field.
    We also discuss what CySA+ is. CySA+ stands for Cybersecurity Analyst. This certification is more advanced than Security+ and focuses on the skills needed to detect and respond to cybersecurity threats. It covers topics like threat detection, data analysis, and incident response. CySA+ is ideal for those who already have some experience in cybersecurity and want to take their skills to the next level.
    By the end of this video, you will have a clear understanding of the differences between CompTIA Security+ and CySA+ certifications. You will know which certification is best for your career goals and how to prepare for the exams. Whether you are a beginner or looking to advance your skills, this video will help you make an informed decision.

    Honestly getting all 3 will do you good...the thing is almost everyone who has CySA+ has a Sec+. Mad Hat here on youtube said that all the stuff he learned in his Cyber Batchelors degree is covered in the Google Cybersecurity certificate, Sec+, and CySA+

    CySA is technically better but HR doesn't really recognize it as being higher than Sec+. I have both, but the CySA+ was my favorite to study for since it covered other domains that I had gone more in depth with after Sec+

    • @Drafs2099
      @Drafs2099 หลายเดือนก่อน

      did the CySA give you a sense of practicality or was it like Sec+ where it's 1mi wide and inch deep ? did it give you skills or knowledge to uphold skills ?

    • @soldiermedic81
      @soldiermedic81 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@Drafs2099 cysa gives you more insight on what hands-on skills you should be focusing on. Even though it's vendor neutral, you should be digging through the objectives by acquiring skills based on those objectives.

    Get the Security+ for the generalist, and then the CySA+ if you're more focused on working SOC/IR. Cheers.

      For entry level they might not ask you but it defiantly comes up in interview debriefs when deciding a candidate since technical interviews can only cover so much.

    Great Comparison. I think CySA is better because it focused more on being an Analyst and hands on unlike security +. Now I think people should do Sec+ first and then CySA+.

    I don't think declaring a "winner" works in this comparison because Security+ is more general and CySA+ is more specific. In my opinion, get Security+ to start out with, then get CySA+ if you intend to focus on cybersecurity. Just as how I wouldn't recommend Cloud+ to someone going into cybersecurity, I wouldn't recommend CySA+ to someone going into infrastructure.
    note: by "wouldn't recommend," I'm not saying to avoid getting them, I'm more saying they shouldn't be a priority.

  • @hajime2k
    @hajime2k 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I got both. Security+ is more popular in the eyes of HR and recruiters. CySA+ prepares those heading to SOC Analyst, Junior Cybersecurity Analyst roles. My next target is to get the Cisco CyberOps Associate certification as a way to fully renew my current CompTIA certifications.
    Security+ is more of an entry-level certification while CySA+ is considered intermediate.
    If the Indeed average pay for either certification is true, then I'm quite underpaid. LMAO.

  • @lstyle3210
    @lstyle3210 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

    I have experience taking both (SY0-501 & CS0-002) I passed Security+ but failed CySA+ by twenty points. I gravitated towards CySA+ because I wanted to stay blue team oriented, it's definitely a harder exam.

    • @hajime2k
      @hajime2k 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I passed the SYO-601 and the CSO-002, both by slim margins. I used a Udemy course for CySA+ and a TH-cam video for the Security+. The Udemy CySA+ course kind of bored me out even when listening on 1.25X speed and I didn't even finish the course by the time I took that exam.
      754 on Security+ . I took another exam (ITS - Cybersecurity) earlier that day and passed that one with relative ease.
      755 on CySA+. I studied for about 10 hours for it after I decided to not reschedule that exam.
