Interview with Alt-J Drummer Thom Green, who talks about living with Alport Syndrome. This is part 4 of a 4-part series.
Because he has a rare genetic disease called Alport Syndrome, Thom’s kidneys failed and he received a new kidney from a deceased organ donor. He shares his thoughts about his donor, organ donation, and how this one event changed his life.
Alport Syndrome causes a decline in kidney function, hearing loss, and vision problems. Thom was on kidney dialysis for 4 years before receiving his kidney transplant.
Thom was interviewed at Madison Square Garden on March 30, 2015, by Kevin Schnurr, another Alport Syndrome patient and transplant recipient.
