I think I understand the slow deck flip card change at 8:40 I think he catches it with his pinky and pulls it to the bottom of the deck revealing the card he had waiting underneath. I could totally be wrong but that’s the only thing I can come up with
I think you are right on the snap change at the 5 min mark. Its his third finger. If you pay attention there is a bit of a blur with his third finger for a quick split second.
@@dylanpace2083 My guess is he has a double, top card slightly farther out, pushes it into the deck with his pinky when doing the deck flip, bottom card now visible when deck comes back to the top. I seem to be able to do it.

I'm going to have to practice that and see how he gets it to work. Pinky supporting the snapped card? Its truly talented regardless.
Watching Chris get his mind blown by this slight of hand: PRICELESS! Mind you, I was absolutely mind blown by his card tricks, too! But seeing Chris, a magician himself, getting so blown away was pure gold.
The surface of the onion is slightly hydrophobic and it's pulling a thin layer of air down with it. The effect that you're seeing around the edges of the onion is caused by the refraction of the air bubble.
There was an old "trick" like this. You wave an egg through a candle flame (or other sooty flame) to quickly cover it in black soot then drop it in water. The egg will appear silver and shiny but it's the same principle. search 'silver egg in water'
I love that reveal in the beginning! It requires a lot of preparation ahead of time, but as you can see, it’s well worth it. One of my favorite 4 ace productions
I agree, inventing new methods and training yourself to do something and master it without a guide or reference is impressive. I'm not a magician. But, I taught myself to do a griffin roll because I have a ring and wanted to learn. I tried to do something over and over and failing because I was physically unable to do it. Eventually I learned to do it and have "mastered" it. Its crazy how we can create new neural pathways and train our bodies to do things. What an awesome video.
It must be an awesome feeling as a Magician, to be as amazed as the rest of us again. Perhaps even more so because you recognize how hard his sleight of hand movements are
Frame by frame you can see how a lot of these are done, but you get basically ONE frame to try to figure it out. The skill is insane!! Makes me wonder how much of these are like 'trickshot' videos - where they take a bunch of takes to make the final shot look so crisp.
I am 6 minutes in and this is the first time in years that I have watched a magic video for this long with my mouth open lol. Usually I am like "Ahh yeah that's cool, but not baffling because it is just a remake of _____" This guy has rocked my shit with his sleights.
A couple of those snaps have a frame missing, but a solid move nonetheless. It can be seen as a very slight jump in the background. I actually don't think of it as cheating because video viewers will stop motion to see how it's done, but the live effect is extremely fine and not discernible. The slight jerking motion of the hand is legit and helps disguise the snap of the third finger and crossing of the card. Very inspiring. Wanting to take my snap up a few notches! Ok, maybe I need to take them up more than a few. Now if I can only figure out how to do it noiselessly with silver dollars...
This gives me that "seeing magic for this first time" feeling.... something I rarely get anymore since I "know too much and have seen too much". Truly inspiring.
16:47 onion skin traps air. The air reflects the light, making it look transparent. (The skin of each layer is like Cyrano wrap, whill the flesh is opaque)
5:35 If you use the < & > keys while watching on TH-cam, you can skip the video frame by frame. He does not use his 3rd finger, but you can see the moment he exposes the Queen behind the 6, then completes the push back of 6, and forward with the Q.
Holy crap! That very first trick, the card gun, stepping through frame by frame he does it so freaking crisp it's like 1.25 frames total, and the second card is placed PERFECTLY where the first one was. EDIT: Alright wo I was way too impressed way too early, this guy is insane what the actual heck.

Pause [SPACE] at 6:31 and use the comma and period keys to go forward and backwards frame-by-frame. The moment the card changes, you can see the five of spades between the fingers of his left hand. Also, go back and forth between those two frames and you'll see how his finger position changes. What he's done is flick the 5 into his left hand and then conceal it as he pretends to hold the card with the left hand. All done in one frame. Quite amazing. The fact that he flips it so accurately into his hand shows how much practice he's done.
