    Beautiful trees! I was wondering, about how long would you say it takes to complete one of these? And around how much do you think it would cost to buy all the beads for it? Thank you!

      hi, I am sorry I missed your comment. I do not get all comment notifications from TH-cam.
      It's hard to say how long it's take...as I bead very fast and can complete it in less than a week. But for someone with no no experience, it could take longer.
      I do have a kit for sale on my Etsy shop for 28.00 USD for this project.

    Made the westrim beaded christmas tree kit from micheals ...in the early 2000s ...and collected all the miniature toys ,lights, music ,collected the extra westrim ornamets and made alot ornaments out of jewelry findings ...plus i even collected miniature handblown glass christmas charms to put on the tree ...so on my seed beaded tree i had over 300 ornaments ...not including the candy canes and icicle ...you can do a search on ebay ...there are kits that come up for sale from time to time ..since westrim stopped making the kits during the 2000s

      @@BeadFlorato my knowledge i dont think westrim continued the tree past 2008 ...though im not sure but i think it started it started up around 1980 .....where you had to make the tree yourself ...then eventually they streamlined the tree in which you did not have to make it as it was premade ....they made different styles of ornaments that you could buy separetly from the tree ...the thing is since the kit and ornaments were labour intensive ....they made wonderful miniature resin and handblown glass ornaments ....even glass toys .....some of the ornaments date back to the 1980s....and once in awhile you will a kit or the tiny packs of premade ornaments, toys ,lights on ebay ....and they have really increased in price as they are no longer made any more ...so we are talking bout a kit that dates back to 1980....so this beaded christmas tree has a history of it being around for at least 20 or more years conservatively ....i was lucky,i still have a kit that i have not made up,plus lots of minature orments and light sets,toys,glass blown ornaments ...imagine tiny glass apples,and tiny gláss butterflies,and tiny glass snowmen,tiny glass presents,glass suns ,little glass frogs,little glass pineapples,etc. glass santas ....about 1/3 to about1/2inch high.....

      I first saw the westrim tree in micheals they had a sample of it in the store ...it was so beautiful ...it had the music and light to go with it ..so when i saw thatree i knew i had to get the kit plus some of the other collections that went withit .believe it ....i even found miniature wooden ornaments ....i got these tiny birds ....had to sand them down to remove the sparkles then repainted them because didnt like the finish on the christmas birds ..westrim had the base tree kit with 50 ornaments you could make ....then you could buy the different packs of ornaments lights toys etc ....i just went to ebay ...and they have some of the kits and ornaments up for sale ....you can take a look at the original boxed set ..and see the picture of the kit tree on the box what it is supposed to be like . If you are interested that is anyways ...i did make alot of my ornaments ...made tiny 1/3 and 1/2 inch filigree christmas angels out of jewelry findings ....they took alot of work as they were so small and tiny 1/2 inch pleated fans made from lace and ribbon.those were very difficult because i had make pleats in the fans ....but they sure were pretty.. made them in a gold color ....and making the icicles with the soldering iron drippin the liquid metal...into an icicle shape ...then letting it solidfy ...i did manage to get a miniature nativity set with baby jesus,mary and joseph in the tiny stable and that was 1/2 inch and having to paint it .. then got those 8 mm size pearl beads and having to paint stars,dots, straight wavy lines in different colors on the pearl beads to imitate those christmas tree balls then having to put the bead caps an hooks on them .....then made tiny little snowmen and those christmas toy soldiers out of beads then having to paint faces on them ...they turned out beautiful .. lol...so you see i liked making work for myself ....lol..anyways that is just some of the stuff i made ....so if you go on ebay ...put in the search ......westrim mini beaded christmas tree ....you will see the tiny green seed bead tree with a picture of a fully loaded tree on the boxed kit lid .,,they have the ornaments that you can buy separetly .....but i will leave that up to you ....

    So excited by this project. Your tree looks great, you are so talented!
    I just wondered if you could use beads that are not all uniform in shape? Or is it better to use all exactly the same size?

    • @BeadFlora
      @BeadFlora  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! You can certainly use different sized beads. Or create a mix. Just keep the same pattern with the loops :).

    Is this considered a fairly easy project or more difficult?

    • @BeadFlora
      @BeadFlora  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      It is pretty easy. The only caveat is doing a lot of loops. I recommend watching the prerequisute videos on the basic frame and continuous loops (linked in description) first if you've never made French beaded flowers before. Both are beginner techniques. For this pattern, I simply combined them.
      Though for the scale of this project, I labelled it as intermediate.

    Your trees look lovely, but some crucial parts of the video tutorial are very blurry, and you have too many sections that are sped up. Beginners need to see things more slowly, and they can fast forward themselves if they want but there is no way to slow down the speed of the video, so for me this tutorial was not helpful, and I am actually a fast learner when I see things done, but not at that speed. Also maybe consider having a more light shining on the work you are doing when you show such tiny detailed items. :)
