    I love this tree idea.....wished I could find the beads and stars and how many I needed of each to make one ornament...right now no one seems to have any of these items

    • @IrenesChoice
      @IrenesChoice  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Sally! I think the sunburst beads, star sequins, rice beads, and star topper would be the hardest to find, especially at local stores. For these, Amazon or Etsy would probably be the easiest place to search for them.
      * For the sunburst beads, star sequins, and rice beads, I have listed the links to materials I have bought and used myself. 1 pack of each would be enough to make a single ornament.
      * For the star topper, you might not find something like the one I used, but any star-shaped bead would work. You could just attach it with the wire differently. If you have a link to a star topper bead you are considering buying, I can help figure out how to attach it.
      I didn't provide counts for the beads because there are some materials that are optional/substitutable (ex. you can avoid buying rice beads if you replace them with 4mm ball beads). Some adjustments may also be needed depending on the size of the tree trunk compared to the size of the tree layers.
      Hope this helps!

    So cute! You say to use a 1cm starburst bead but when I click on the websites you provided, they are 10cm! Where can I find 1cm?

    • @IrenesChoice
      @IrenesChoice  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Suzanne! The websites say 10mm (millimeters), so they are 1cm (centimeter). I ordered my beads from there to make these Christmas trees. Let me know if you have other questions!

    Do you know how to adapt this pattern to make a larger tree? Thank-you!!!!

    • @IrenesChoice
      @IrenesChoice  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Dena! This pattern makes a tree that is about 2.75 inches tall. Here are some thoughts about how to increase the size:
      * If you want to increase the size a little bit, by adding 1 extra layer/ring, you could add a few more safety pins and ball beads to the tree trunk to make the trunk wider. The key is to make sure the last layer doesn’t slip past the tree trunk.
      * If you want to increase the size more, it’d be better to use longer safety pins than the 1.1 inch safety pins I used. This would allow you to make a taller tree trunk. I’d recommend making all the tree layers/rings first until you get a tree size that you want. Then you can experiment with how many safety pins and ball beads you’d need in the tree trunk. The tree trunk needs to be wide enough to support the last tree layer/ring.
      Creating extra layers/rings can be done by eye. Each ring should be slightly bigger than the previous, so you can add more sunburst beads and ball beads as needed. The rings should stack into a triangular Christmas tree shape.
      Hope this helps!

      Thank you Sandy! Unfortunately I don't have a link since I got my 1.5 cm star topper beads in Taiwan. I try to post links to products that I have bought and used myself, but I think:
      * If you search for 'star beads' on Amazon you can at least get star beads with a hole drilled through the center. These beads are more common. You can form a wire loop on one end, which can be useful if you're trying to make an ornament!
      * If you search for 'star flatback', or 'star rhinestone' you can get a shape similar to what I used (requires putting 2 flatbacks back-to-back to create 1 star topper). However it can be hard to find pre-drilled ones, so you may need to drill holes yourself.
      For the other bead types, you could use the links I put, or do a search on Amazon
      Hope this helps!

      Hi Samantha! Unfortunately I don't have a link since I got my 1.5 cm star topper beads at a local bead store in Taiwan. I try to post links to products that I have bought/used/verified myself, but I think:

    Probably a pretty pathetic question but I stink at math lol would the 1.1" safety pins be the same as 1 1/16"?

    • @IrenesChoice
      @IrenesChoice  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thanks for this question Pennie, the sixteenths measurement makes more sense for inches! I took a ruler to the safety pins I used and they are indeed closer to 1 1/16''. However for this pattern, safety pins anywhere between 1 1/16'' and 1 1/8'' should work! Modified the video description to reflect this!
      The exact safety pins I bought are: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07QFVQ6B6
