- The episode is set in the year 2033 and begins with a tantalizing advertisement for Lake View, a digital afterlife, being played in a subway. Nora Antony, an employee of Horizon, the company behind Lake View, is traveling on the same subway. Her monotonous routine at the workplace leads her to find solace in peppy music, but this small pleasure is swiftly taken away by her superior, Lucy, who asks her to focus on her job. Unfazed, Nora puts on a bright smile and warmly welcomes a new member to Upload.

The most unrealistic thing about this show is the year. There's no way the world will be like this in only 10 years. 50 years, maybe.

He's dying, yet he's fully conscience and is healthy enough to sit on a table without help. With such HIGH tech to upload a brain, why not repair the body or a robot body?
Black Mirror handled this basic concept a lot better and more realistic. The human race could be in trouble if we could DO that... Why have a human body when you can live in a VR world that you can't even tell the difference and live forever at the ripe age of 21 and party non-stop?? Of course, no actual reproduction.
Also the mind is not a physical body. So who would want to be OLD in a computer simulation? Everyone could be in their 20s.

I loved this series shame it got canceled it was a great show .
S1 was great. very creative and funny. Then they ruined it in S2, with bad writing and truncated season (only 7 episodes). Fans were angry. Looper says S3 is in production but no one expects it to be any good.

An upload is a copy, so Nathan has been dead the whole time. We are concerned with justice for a copy to whom no injustice has been done.
You are right, the uploads are basically copies of the peoples character, they are just there so their relatives still can feel like they are alive, but they themselves are not conscious, they have no free will, they are just controlled by the computer based on the information of their lives.
