Take this lesson over to the real claims of “cultural appropriation” made by the Social Justice Warriors.
I understand that it might seem absurd, but that's only if we don't distinguish between appropriation and appreciation. Appropriation is using, often for your own gain or entertainment, part of a culture in a different way to its original meaning, which is disrespectful. Like wearing a Native American headdress at a music festival despite its sacred origins, or dressing up in a hijab for a Halloween costume. Appreciation is giving it the same meaning and learning about it in the same way as those who are from the culture (or, for my second example, religion) that it belongs to. There are examples where white people think we are appreciating rather than appropriating, but that's only because we stay wilfully ignorant to the voices saying we're using something differently to its meaning in the culture that it's from.

Also...there are white non-Irish people who do Irish dancing that don't get accused of cultural appropriation and there are also black Irish people who probably do Irish dancing. Similarly, do non-black people get accused of cultural appropriation when they take up dance styles rooted in black culture in America? It's a blatant racialised double standard.

@Paul Sebastian, How does her studying Irish culture, and participating in traditional Irish dance for the past 10yrs, half of her life, make this a Democratic or liberal issue, or scapegoating in anyway? Why would it cause you to pay for any of it? Are we drinking a wee bit early this morning?

Remember for those that leave any negative comments ~ Growing old is mandatory, but growing up his optional. Keep going girl; I am 1/2 Irish and you are the best.
Anybody that appreciates and shares Irish culture with the world in a positive way is more than welcome and should be applauded. The vast majority of people talking about appropriation weren't even Irish.
It's probably people from those BLM movements up in America with no idea of what equality is.
Her doing this Irish dance is not a crime, stop trying to make it look like that.
The vast majority of people talking about appropriation weren't even -Irish- serious.
OMG! Appreciate her dedication, her talent and her spirit. She has been learning this dance for a long time. She obviously loves dancing, just let her be. SMH!!! Keep going Morgan.
Cultural appropriation is the most stupid thing in SJW culture, nobody cares or complains if anyone dances flamenco, i care they do it right, and respect the culture, challenge it if you think you can.
jorge vecino castro I understand that it might seem stupid, but that's only if we don't distinguish between appropriation and appreciation.
She is awesome. And her point about appreciation v. appropriation is very well-put. Should Yo Yo Ma give up the cello, or should Muddy Waters not have welcomed Johnny Winters into his band? Is Wilson Pickett singing Hey Jude an example of cultural appropriation because if so Thank goodness for cultural appropriation!
Remember how came to this world the blues and jazz music? There are musicians of all colors playing that appropriately
My mother hated doing the Irish dancing because of how still you have to keep your arms. She was Irish, Co. Mayo. However watching it performed is something else entirely and this young woman is Fantastic!! Dance is dance, it's beautiful when you can do it properly 😊😊
The amazing aspect of Irish dance is how on earth Irish people are able to perform that after few pints😂
Btw I love Ireland no pun intended
Also damn jealous cause I dance like a drunken crippled bear...
If you're offended by this, you ain't Irish.
As an Irishman I say carry on, you're doing grand
Life is short, find happiness where you can. She is a beautiful young lady, I found some happiness watching her.
Awww. What a sweet comment. And yeah, she's very beautiful.
I'm so here for this!!! I've always loved to watch this dance style!!!
Awesome! As an Irish person this is great, we welcome all people the world over 🇮🇪
This is cultural appropriation. It's insensitive and racist.
She is NOT your's.
But you don't want us English here! 😭
@Dirk Diggler the people were never asked. The people, were never, asked.
@Arfur Fuxxakes it's only silly when white people say it. White people, who are actually a global minority being displaced in every homeland across the globe. Then, it's silly. And you're delusional.
You are a great Irish Dancer Morgan! Good for you for putting yourself out there. Dancing is for everyone. No one should be barred for loving to dance for Heaven's sake!
The black Irish. I love it😂❤️
Do your thing young lady! I was 11 when Riverdance came to the states in the late 90s via PBS.. I’ll never forget that opening sequence... still gives me goosebumps. As a 30+ Black woman, I still carry that part of Irish culture that was shared with me. Show em what you’re made of!!!😘😘
Lovely dancing. Nice to see people from outside Ireland enjoying Irish culture. Very often appropriation of culture is born of admiration. It's good to share. She is very talented, so I hope she goes far & continues to enjoy her irish dancing.
👍👍👍✌✌✌ from Ireland
Irish dancing belongs to everyone...
You enjoy. Love from New Zealand
Such wonderful family!
Keep on going and keep getting better. This is what it looks like when you do something you love with commitment. She found something she enjoys/loves doing Shows her love too herself and to the culture by loving what she does and striving to be great at it. Doesn't get any better or more complicated than that.
Better than twerking or that other sexualized nonsense we call dance these days.
Orite mate
Well twerking has its roots from some types of African cultural dance, but unfortunately it got to the west and got overly sexualised. Its disheartening as my tribal dance moves are booty focused. 😔
@@dlilwon I see I'll look into it

Cultural appropriation!
I mean, appreciation.
Cultural integration.
The original Irish are black. Lol never forget Caucasians come from the caucus mountains of Georga Russia. That's your real homeland.
@@JewishSunSlavesInAfricaEgypt lmaooo no Indo-European
@@JewishSunSlavesInAfricaEgypt if they were black then why dont they look mixed? What a dumbass lol
@@JewishSunSlavesInAfricaEgypt those "caucasian" were indo European who moved to middle east stupid, white euorpeans people dont come from the Caucasus mountain of Georgia. What an idiot.. not all white people are the same
Appreciation is what I saw. Her dancing is amazing and the 1/8th of me that's Irish is proud she appreciates my mother's ancestors' culture. She's very talented and she's got the talent to go far. Odds are that the people making a fuss aren't Irish and are the same people who wear the honorary Irish button celebrating St. Patrick's day by drinking green beer till they make a fool of themselves and disgrace the day. Also they likely can't define "ironic" either. Keep up the good work Morgan and dance to the song in your heart.
omg she is amazing and so talented
stunning and brave
Well done girl!!! I’m Irish 🇨🇮 and I think your great. Keep dancing!!!
I'm half Irish on mother's part Catholic grew up in London. think you doing a grand job go girl go good on ya girl
She is amazing. One's ethnicity has nothing to do with respecting and staying true to the culture of a performance art. In fact it honors it. Bravo
Black Irish and Proud!
👊
She’s the sweetest girl ever I’m black and did Irish dance and she gave me advice when I was ashamed and embarrassed about it
I think this is really freakin cool. Keep up the Irish dancing, don’t listen to the fools that have something negative to say.
Morgan is honoring a culture through creative expression, and that's a beautiful thing to see. ♥️🇮🇪☘️
Wish my big fat melted tyre legs could move like that
Dirk Diggler 😂😂 from nutcases, cuz I still see some people that do it from time to time cuz they love it and what’s wrong? It encourages tourism
@Arfur Fuxxakes Can you explain why you think he's wrong please? I'd be interested to hear the argument rather than shouting someone down with no point.
@Dirk Diggler Yes, probably but as long as you don't paint yourself black, ignore everything and dance...many caucasians have joined African dance classes and some do wear African fabric and style. Someone is also always gonna be offended.
@@Nasiruify no you not doing research behind the dance or where it came from would be cultural appropriation. That's the thing with ya'll that you don't get. Cultural appropriation isn't just you copying some dance you got off the internet or some hair style you thought looked cool. It's y'all not doing any research about the dance or hair style that's the problem.
I'm a Black American and Ive always loved to watch the Riverddance damcers. Was taught how to do the Irish Jig as a grade school kid...still do it..smile when my back lets me..😊 keep up the good work. Proud of ya.
First, she's really talented, let's get that out of the way. Second, I think it's absurd to accuse her of cultural appropriation. She's clearly celebrating the dance rather than misrepresent its roots.
Literally the only people who give a damn about the "cultural appropriation" thing are Americans.
This is a pure happiness...what a talent!!!!
"I was afraid this time would come. I wasn't prepared to face this kind of hurting from within"
-Albert Einstein
And no interest or news on the Irish murd e red by b s.
Albert Einstein must have been really concerned that a black person would take up Irish dancing
She gave full credit as to where the dancing originates, and whose culture it is. If she took up Jamaican dancehall (Caribbean) Samba (Brazil) Flamenco (Spain), this young woman appears informed and courteous enough to always make mention of origins. Who's being harmed? She pays homage, gives credit, appreciates the culture and is simply enjoying herself.
That's not an Einstein quote, it's not even a quote wrongly attributed to Einstein, it's a quote from a cheesy 2010 romantic drama that bombed called Til My Heartache Ends. What are you smokin'?
In the 80s the local group of Irish dancers came and performed at my london based school and I thought it was the most amazing thing I had ever seen. Back then there was no way on earth I as a black girl could have joined the club, although I asked, and that was ok. Later I watched Riverdance absolutely wonderful!! I'm so glad that things have changed a bit now. I hate this cultural appropriation BS. It is actually appreciation, as long as you acknowledge and show due respect to the cultural roots. This girl is amazing.
I think she is doing a really good thing. You go girl!
stunning and brave

Rap started in 16th century England.
@n d It can be traced way back to England. Some historian detailed it in a Rebel News video some time ago.
@Mac Toirdealbhaigh Go look for the video and find out for yourself.
@Mac Toirdealbhaigh That's just shows how ignorant you are.
I’m Irish and I support this young lady’s talent
That's like saying black people shouldn't do metal or rock and white people shouldn't do hip hop or rnb. The hate is lame... music is universal. Edit - "art is universal"
We all can learn so much from this young woman! Keep doing what you do.
She got skills!!!!
Beautiful! She is a wonderful dancer! I admire her persistance, devotion and hard work.
Good on you, Morgan. You’re dancing is beautiful and so graceful.
Beautiful. Thank you. So proud of you.
She is really good
You GO, Morgan. No one gets this good at something without a lot of practice and it shows! Riverdance invited you to join them in a performance - that's fantastic. This is art, you're an artist, Riverdance is an artistic troupe. It's perfectly logical that they'd ask you to perform with them, and it's as far from cultural appropriation as it could be, IMO. Good on all y'all!
Fantastic well done 🤗
