Another great video Phil,I remember maybanks the paper recycling firm,we used to collect the papers in a big cart and they used to weigh it on the weighbridge then tip them all out and weigh the empty cart,they always used to check the cart for house bricks as some people used to put them in there so it would weigh more,greets green is supposedly the birth place of west Bromwich albion,as most of the players lived and worked in albion which was a part of greets green back in the day

Hi Phil enjoyed walking around Greets Green its the first time I've seen this area it looks like a nice estate to live I've always drove through this area on the main Road to work I remember a Haulage firm called Halls opposite the recycling firm on the left on the way up to West Bromwich

What a difference a main road makes! As you were walking around the back streets it was soooo quiet. Where Jack’s garage is I remember also the green grocer type shop. The guy and his son were really helpful. I used to buy garden plants from there too.

The Greenery in Anne's close is the start of Sheepwash urban Park

The recycling place was Maybanks, and the missing flats was Ryder House.

Phil,haven't really been back home since '96 and even then wasn't really familiar with greets green
Just watched a chap called on you tube called uk explored who reviewed the area and it looks nothing like what you have shown. Chap doesn't seem local and I'm wondering if he went to the same place?

Ive watched him also he really does paint the whole area as some kind of war zone, he isnt local that's for sure

Sorry but it makes me so sad to our county being so run down, all the pubs we are losing, and churches, no one seems to take pride any more, lettys plaice was next door to the chippy, it closed when they upped the vat, there is no community anymore, and I hate when they don't have gardens
