Unbelievable. I have a a new stainless steel stove that I never cleaned :( I thought it was beyond cleaning. I used this stuff and the stove now looks brand new again. I was so scared it was not going to get off the grease or was going to scratch the surface. I am so glad I found this stuff. I won't let it get that way again.
Bar Keepers Friend is different from Comet, Ajax, Bon Ami because it is the only powdered cleanser that has acid in it. Oxalic acid. Other cleaners don't. So BKF is the best option for removing hard water stains (shower door, faucets etc). As any acid it can and will damage some surfaces. Do not leave it overnight. Do not use on brushed brass faucets, natural stone etc. I am a professional housecleaner, in my opinion, best way to clean greasy stove top is to mix Bon Ami and dish soap. Use Razor (paint section HomeDepot $5), sos pads for the bad cases. Microfiber cloth for wiping.

i don't mix it, i put some on the surface and use scrub sponge, wet it tap it on the powder and start scrubbing, use a cloth to wipe off and rinse and wipe off again

I would remove a knob and test a small area that it will cover to test. This stove was already scratched and older. So is my stove. It's tough not to scratch if you have those grates, just by taking them off or putting them on. 😢
How do you get the residue off easily? I used the liquid on my stainless steel sink and glass stove top and I really did not feel it cleaned that well. On top of that, I had such a hard time rinsing all the residue off which took me more time to do then the cleaning part(It was not left on for more then a couple of minutes while I was cleaning).

Oh I'm sorry, you're correct. In this video I made a paste. But it was easier to control the thickeness. The liquid was so runny and it was a pain to get it all wiped off.

Does anyone know if there is there any way to remove the residue if left on overnight accidentally? My mother was cleaning the kitchen at night and fell asleep with BKF on our stainless steel stove top. Now there are white stains left on the stove top. Please let us know.
I used the powder for my stove. It didn't get basically nothing off. Used a scrubber and still nothing. I'm gonna try the ammonia and paper towels next. Got kinda discouraged when this product gets so many positive reviews.
There are all kinds of surfaces but it works really well on some. Also, for really cooked in messes it might need to soak. You have to find the product that works best on yours. We have another video with ammonia and plastic wrap to keep the fumes in. It worked amazing.
Bar Keepers Friend has recently updated the label of the liquid to say that they've improved the consistency. It is much easier to use. If you have a bottle of the older formula: It is easier to re-mix if you store the bottle lying on its side. (Put a tray or plate under it.) The solids will still sink, but it takes less shaking to re-mix it.

Comet’s main ingredient is trichloroisocyanuric acid (a bleaching agent). And Comet is slightly less toxic. Need to kill germs and destroy mold? Comet. Want to remove hard water stains or polish metals? BKF.
The audio and video not being synced, is definitely a distraction and makes the quality of the video bad. Project would’ve gone much smoother if they had used about 90% less of the product in both the liquid and powder -probably should’ve experimented before the video was shot.

i use the powder on flat even surfaces and the liquid for uneven surfaces. BKF Is my favorite cleaning solution so far

i don't mix it, i put some on the surface and use scrub sponge, wet it tap it on the powder and start scrubbing, use a cloth to wipe off and rinse and wipe off again

I use the powder on Magnilite circa 1940's with a sponge and wash with warm soapy water after.
I prefer the powder, the liquid gets stuck to the bottom no matter how hard you shake it.

If you would use a toothbrush are non-scratching sponge the stuff would come off a lot easier

Everyone would be bored watching but I had to rinse it a few times, which is one drawback to using any cleaners like this (or even baking soda).

You just sprinkle on the powder then use a wet sponge or cloth. I thought that was easier.

How do you get it to work??? I don’t get it I scrub with barkeepers and follow the directions but the hard black stains stay on. I don’t get it!!!{
Maybe it’s the surface or stain? There are so many different combinations and it might not work on your stains.

That was water, to make a paste because powder doesn't spread and stick to the surface.

Why is the powder mixed with water different than the liquid? Just curious 🙂
The powder gets in the air and isn't as precise as the liquid. But the liquid is quite runny. However I think the powder works better on tough stains.
Cream style by all means! You don't have to put that much on the stove! That was your fault!
