I worked here for almost 3 months and made close to 100k in that short window of time. Im just a construction worker. The taco trucks on site are awesome. The porta johns are terrible
Moore's Law states that the number of transistors on a microchip doubles about every two years with a minimal cost increase. Rocks law says that the cost of a semiconductor chip fabrication plant doubles every four years.
Given how unreliable the Texas power grid is and how much Samsung lost during the grid meltdown a couple of years ago, I'm surprised they are building more in Texas. That said, Arizona seems to be attracting more semi investment than Texas now given the stability of the Arizona grid and lack of natural disasters.
This is just my thoughts. Samsung already has semiconductor factory in Austin. That's why Samsung originally wanted to build a new factory in Austin. However, the black out happened and they had to change the plan. Arizona, Newyork, Florida, and Texas were all good options but they couldn't ignore the synergy of their old factory and new factory close distance to each other. I think Arizona wouldn't be good option for Samsung because TSMC already chose Arizona before samsung.
@@asrr62 From the Austin American Statesmen on 3/30/2021 : Samsung's semiconductor fabrication plant in Austin is once again operational, the company confirmed Tuesday - more than a month after it was shut down due to power outages during February's Texas freeze, a move that likely cost the technology giant hundreds of millions of dollars.
Awesome! God bless Samsung! God bless Texas!
