Zerodha is the largest stock broker in India. Over 1.5 million Zerodha clients contribute to over 15% of all retail order volumes in India daily by trading and investing with their platform.
The entire tech stack at Zerodha is backed by open source projects and libraries alike. This talk is about how FOSS has empowered Zerodha to build great products faster and better. FOSS has made it possible for a team of just over 20 developers to build what is today India's largest stock broker.

So lovely to see this interview! I've been a CTO of a couple of large companies for 10 years and I'm also now an active trader on the Zerodha platform.
Just incredible to learn that they are completely open source and their tech team only 30 people!

13:20 v have scaled Kite to I think Extream Lengths given the fact that Every single Bit of Kite was Built by 2-2.5 ppl over the years ( wow ), that is the kind of productivity Go gives you
23:25 we already use K8, not in the trading platform stack but everywhere else But not really to scale systems, we figured you don't really need K8 to scale systems but to make out deployment procedures more standardized.
