    Sabía que esta melodía me sonaba de algo. Aparece un pequeño fragmento en "James y el melocotón gigante", interpretada al violín por el saltamontes. Más de 20 años después, la he encontrado 🥲

    is it just me but pieces in e major are just automatically good 👍🏻, secret to good piece, put the piece in e major 🎼😀

    • @dickrichard626
      @dickrichard626 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Everything sounds identical in all keys... Only higher or lower respectively... Sure you can't go too low or too high with some things and some things seem like they fit perfectly in one specific key over others for seemingly no reason, but really, specific keys are pretty irrelivant in effecting the sound of piece other then just making it higher or lower.

    • @chinncannon
      @chinncannon ปีที่แล้ว

      some pieces sound better on violin in some keys. If you play a piece in D flat on the violin, there won't be many open string resonances like in this piece. Similarly, if you play cello in E major, not as much resonance

    • @chinncannon
      @chinncannon ปีที่แล้ว

      @@dickrichard626 maybe you're thinking of the piano. the violin or other string instruments will absolutely have different resonant advantages in one key over another. Also, a piano is tuned with well tempered or decimal tuning while the violin is in perfect 5ths. This, again, has an effect on the resonance.

    • @dickrichard626
      @dickrichard626 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@chinncannon You can tune to any note you want. Nothing says that for example the 6 string guitar has to be tuned to E standard or even a specific frequency. Different instruments sound intrinsically different and that is refered to as timbre. Timbre has to do with the overtones that are produced by an instrument and different instruments can play the same notes, but still sound different. If you hypothetically have 2 instruments that are producing identical Harmonics. They would actually combine and all you percieve is an increase in volume and not 2 instruments at all. "Resonance" is just a continued long note or can refer to a reverbating echo. It is simply put a sound that lasts for a period of time for some reason. "The note resonates." = "The note continues to voice." It has nothing to do with timber or tuning... It's important to learn what words mean what in music theory otherwise your going to always be lost and confused.

    • @dickrichard626
      @dickrichard626 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chinncannon You create more variation by changing whatever pattern, scale or chord progression then you do by playing a riff/scale or chord progression in one key compared to another. Any pattern sounds identical in all keys only relatively higher or lower. I admit that some contexts elude to being played in a higher key as apossed to a lower one or vice versa and some might seem perfect in one specific key for some reason, but that's for you to decide. My point is that C Ionian sounds identical to D Ionian, which also sounds identical to A# Ionian and the only difference is that they are only higher or lower in comparison to each other and not particularly unique. Now that said specifically the Ionian mode is rather intrinsically bright and happy so it seems to not lend itself to making music in a very low bass octave and is easier to work with in higher octave. Not saying it's impossible though. Feeling out the bass in Ionian is much easier with some chords or melody in a higher octave already being there. While in contrast Aeolian or some kind of dark minor/ chaotic scale can easily be used to start creating with a bass line and will feel more appropriate lower, not that these scales can't be used in higher octaves obviously. Playing in one key over another just does very little to change things in reality without there being a big difference of octaves, which really all in all has a barbers pole effect in the grand scheme of things.

      I always tell my students to make sure to play the melody line in the double stops solo many times but with the fingers in place (if no open string) for the accompanying notes. The bow will only be on one string but fingers on both. This usually highlights intonation and tone issues caused by your posture/tension. I know it's hard, but always be thinking about relaxing. Then switch to only playing the accompanying notes but again, fingers on both strings. i see this was 2 years ago so hopefully you conquered the piece but maybe someone else needs the advice.
