Thankyou so much for your video!! My husband was able to replace the clock hands and install them also correct the clocks chimes on the hour and half hour, again thankyou,!! Very good instructions!!
Thanks for the video! I appreciate the pace and explanations. Just wondering, though...does the collar on the minute hand nut face the minute hand? I cannot seem to tighten it when it is like that.
@@heidiwatson5973 yes, the minute hand should fit around the collar. Or another way to put it is the small diameter of the bushing with the square hole should fit into the hole in the minute hand. If it won’t, it’s possible the bushing or hand were replaced with a different size.
Thanks for this video! My in-laws had a 70’s vintage Schmeckenbecher cuckoo clock that we recently cleaned and got running again. The cuckoos were 2 hours behind and with the help of your video got I got the cuckoos to match the time again! Now, their clock also has dancers that spin just after the cuckoo. The seem to spin and dance a random number of times between 1 and 5. Any suggestions on fixing that? How many times are they supposed to dance?
Most of the time, no, they don't have a collar. The hour hand just pushes straight on to the shaft. Every once in a while, you'll run across a cuckoo hour hand that does have a collar, but it's not common.
Excellent instructions! Thank you so much. My despair of a potentially broken cuckoo clock is saved by you. Thank you!

@@dannyh9010 The dancers should spin steadily as long as the music plays. Sounds like they may be skipping or slipping.
Does the hour hand go in collar?
