I know I'm 4 years late but just to give some insights into the lyrics: Luca was italian-scottish and lived attended Gordonstoun boarding school in scotland as a child, he was sent there against his will by his parents, he left school and moved to London during the early 70s as a teenager/early adult and worked for Virgin Records, he sort of got involved with the music scene and attended many concerts and even had a band that didn't meet too much success(the "New Clear heads"). Since he was a very social and street-smart guy he met many people from many backgrounds during his time in London and did meet many rastafarians during the 70s that would tell him how bad they are treated by babylon(the system) and that they wanted to return to ethiopia, Luca was really conflicted about this because he noticed that many people were treated badly independently of their race or cultural gorup yet rastafarians weren't really conscious about this reality. He also mentions in some interviews that rastafarians would write songs like "no woman no cry" and then hit their women, he basically considered them hypocrites, because they would claim oppression or peace and love but don't really believe in it. Many of his songs are against hypocrisy and phony people, he really disliked people who were dishonest or hid their true feelings. Probably(and this is a personal opinion) because of his upbringing in Gordonstoun school, where kids were taught a strict education and to be stuck-up and save face
