I'll add that goes for Motown too. Beatles and Motown acts were in competition yet were friends with each other. Smokey Robinson and Paul are still friends. The Beatles loved the Supremes back in the day , and all the Motown artists...they had covered a few of their earlier songs in their act like the Shirrells' Please Mr Postman, Smokey Robinson's You've Really Got a Hold on Me, and Barrett Strong's "Money (That's What I Want)." tney also covered many other Black Aritsts' songs like Chuck Berry and Larry Williams.

Before the Beatles, America was a great wall, where foreign musicians came to die. Then this song was released, and the walls came tumbling down-America fell to the Beatles, and Beatlemania was now underway worldwide! Looking forward to this one, Ike!

11-year-old Michael Jackson was indeed on The Ed Sullivan Show with the Jackson 5 in 1969. Besides Michael, the Jackson 5 consisted of his older brothers Jackie, Tito, Jermaine and Marvin. Young Michael was the lead singer of the group.

Helter Skelter. Just make sure it's the original Beatles studio recording and not a cover posing as the original (these often have Spanish captions). Paul proving he can do more than sweet melodic ballads and love songs; some even point to this as the birth of heavy metal.. .
A Day in the Life. This is where the Beatles get truly cosmic - the ordinary events of a day, as related in the newspaper or simply in one's regular daily routine, going to work or school, but seen from a detached/ transcendental viewpoint brought about by drugs and/or meditation practice. Including some of the wildest experimentation with the use of a classical orchestra in popular or any other music, it's still blowing people's minds today! John and Paul alternate on lead vocals.
Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds. Inspired by John's son's drawing of his little friend Lucy from pre-school, and the works of Lewis Carroll (the Alice books) this takes us on a delicious colourful psychedelic journey into the recesses of John's imagination. Often believed to be inspired by an acid trip, given the initial letters of the title, though John denied this.
Norwegian Wood. John recounts the story of a date gone wrong while George introduces the Indian sitar into Western popular music for the first time, throwing open the door to the future 'world music' genre.
Here Comes the Sun. IIRC, still the most downloaded song on Spotify, of any artist. George welcomes the start of Spring as the Sun begins melting away months of Winter gloom. A classic for the ages, composed in Eric Clapton's garden.
...and a hundred or so more, all just as amazing and ground-breaking...

There are lots of good possibilities for next Beatles song. "Day Tripper" and "Eleanor Rigby" are two of them.

Sounds like John's mic is turned down. You can only really hear Paul. Live performances can be dicey that way.

You are correct. The Beatles had the Ed Sullivan mixing board all set and a cleaning man moved the levers. John’s mic was just about off.

The idiots in the control booth had cut John Lennon's mic way down on the performance. John and Paul were singing unison excpet on I cna't hide part, but you can hardly hear John's lower note harmony. same for the 2nd time through the bridge.
