why not use blackmagic wide gamut gen4/5 for input color space instead? doing so it's already saturated from the start and I guess then you won't need to boost the saturation from the start
@@ShugoAkatsuka Thanks, but I used your color grading method instead. Please check out my first blackmagic footage from the past summer and give me your feedback, Shugo! th-cam.com/video/UfLfUkvrWFY/w-d-xo.html

@@ShugoAkatsuka Yep! Going toward green really makes it stand out from other video footage, but keeps it elegant! I'm curious though why you use the "Video" gamma instead of the "Film" gamma in your CST?
@@ShugoAkatsuka Oh, I guess I meant the Color Space. The Gamma was right. I just never tried or used the Video Gen 5 Color Space, but instead I use the Wide Gamut Gen4/5. But your results work so why not haha
Great tutorial..very simple and straight forward. Thanks for sharing your process! You have a great look of your footage and will definitely give this process a try. Excellent work ❤

Hey, great video! Have 2 questions: - what were the settings you shot the clips on? Was it 6k BRAW or ProRes 422, etc? - The color space transform settings you used in the video are for a BMPCC 6k pro, so will that be the exact same settings for a standard BMPCC 6k also? Thanks and again a great and easy to follow video!!
Hey, nice tutorial. Thank you. On the first footage with sign ( 0:00 ) i can see some kind of bloom but still the image is sharp. Did you use some kind of diffusion filter or is it some kind of vintage lens?
DAMN you're good. Try using 16:9 aspect ratio though. Looks just as good if you frame it right. I'd reserve letterbox for anamorphic lenses unless it servers another purpose
Which project settings do you use with this in Color Management? Timeline Color Space and Output Color Space? Do those need to match your CST Node selections?
@@ShugoAkatsuka Not really but I also live in Northern Germany, it's always shitty here lol, I shoot with a BMPCC 4K and an olympus 12-40mm f2.8, but I never get my colours to look that deep, contrasty and stunning
Do you know reason why my 6kpro footage braw comes out pretty faded or hazey when uploaded to davinci? Like when I do the first step it looks way more faded than your example still so it’s hard to judge the saturation.

So this is an alternative way to saturate footage. Try both and use whichever the method you prefer
only a few selected people can bring out the true image and colors of this camera, great job

Could you make a video on how you colorgrade for night scenes?

The real question is: How do you manage to get such stunning footage? It seems that I suck at cinematography lol
Try using a tripod and fluid head. I filmed these as if I’m doing photography!
