What is "AMAZING" is that, even when proved innocent in a court of law, the person will be forever "guilty" in the eyes of some! Even if there are hours and hours and hours and hours of footage proving their innocence some will still cling to the fact they "must be guilty"!

TBH I’m pretty naive even as I passed 20 and still even my siblings (who I should know by know when they lie) could mess with me. So when I saw reality tv where “life imitates art”-sorta, then I actually believed it.

Yeah, I love how him winning suirs against those claiming the show is faked is used as evidence that it's faked. I mean is it faked? No clue, but those who tried to claim it were all proven wrong in court, so at this time I would have to side with No, since if it was you would think multiple lawsuits over it, some big money ones, would have dug up some dirt on them for their court cases, but it appears they were unable too.

I can tell you all without a shadow of a doubt that Kitchen Nightmares is, at the very least, somewhat faked. My dad is a famous chef up in northern Indiana and Ramsay called him up one day explaining that he'd be filming an episode of the show up there. He asked my dad if he could borrow some of his apprentices for the taping (my dad said yes, of course). It turns out that my dad's apprentices did all the cooking for the restaurant in question after they supposedly "flipped" the restaurant. They had a full set up behind the restaurant (kinda like food trucks with all the gear they'd need) and cooked out there then brought everything into the restaurant to be served. Whether the beginning of each episode is fake or not, I can not tell you (such as when he goes in there and tries their food for the first time, etc). But I can promise you that the second half of the episode is faked, I saw it with my own two eyes. So before ya'll go strutting around talking Ramsay up, just know that his shows, like any other reality shows, are at least partially faked.
I believe you. One local restaurant was doing well until it did the show. The chef had lost his first restaurant in a hurricane. Ramsay changed the decor and menu, and killed business. It changed back, but soon after, it went under.

I'm amazed that you really expect a failing restaurant to master an all new menu practically overnight. In every episode I have watched Gordon always brings good food in for the restaurant owners and staff to eat then forms a menu for them. On one episode he even brought in a world famous chef. Only a donut would assume that the bad chefs suddenly started churning out good food overnight.

My friend worked at a place that was on Kitchen nightmares. He said basically a lot was exaggerated but some of the parts you would think was staged actually weren't.... his boss wasn't exactly normal and liked to do dance entertainment thinking it would excite the guests. But yeah the 2 big things in the episode weren't staged but a lot of other stuff was to basically make it look like a shithole
Kitchen Nightmares was dope af, but I kind of realized year after that there's no way kitchens are that bad, I have no experience in culinary, and I know you shouldn't put cooked meat beside raw meat, and for those head chefs at the restaurants to be at that job, then they mysteriously can't cook seems fake too

btw, Martin wasn't "sacked" in that episode, he quit willingly. Ramsey only suggested to Muhammed that Martin should be fired, but he even admitted that it was ultimately up to Muhammed in the end. Martin flipped his shit about the suggestion and ended up quitting himself. Therefore, he kinda had no leg to stand on in his claims to begin with. I don't doubt that some of KN is made to look worse for the sake of drama, because I don't think anyone goes into a reality TV show expecting everything to be completely authentic, but I don't think KN deserved to be at #1 on the list.
I dropped tv almost 2 years ago. No cable either. I never once thought these allegded programs were real. TV is evil.
Even the idea to add Kitchen Nightmares, based purely on an allegation that the owner, of a restaurant that was on bad conditions, did because he was on denial, is just stupid. Even more to put it on the first place and not even mentioning that the owner may have made that claim only to not risk his bussines image.

If you want a fake reality show that Ramsay is on, it's Hell's Kitchen. They don't even give the winners the prizes they are supposed to get.

I'm sure they have taken some liberty with cutting and such to ham up controversies but actually planting stuff, I seriously doubt it. It's one thing to cut out things that might not be interesting, bloopers, and such due to time constraints, it's something completely different to script and re-shoot until you get it right. Just because someone filed a lawsuit does not lend credence to it being faked.
As for Martin's lawsuit (first US episode I believe), if he really could run it properly then they wouldn't have needed Ramsay's help in the first place. It's not that hard to understand that you should throw out rotten or spoiled food. If I understand it correctly he ran another business, and running two business that effectively require you full attention is not easy and one or both will suffer.

Recently I heard that American Pickers is holding auditions, yes auditions, and I have seen the flyer. It seems they only go checking someone's property if you can show the show's producers that you have something they might be interested in. I also found out that 90% of their store business actually are consignments.
I was talking to a manager of a storage place recently who told me that the main item left in the lockers that have been abandoned is mattresses and that they by state law have to inventory any items left and this is before any items can be sold.
Um Ramsay's shows are edited to up the dramatics, but they are DEFINITELY NOT fake. These restaurant owners are every bit of delusional as they appear on the shows, and that's precisely why their restaurants mostly all failed even after he attempts to fix them. Just saiyan.
Number one... of course that owners and managers say that their restaurants weren't that bad... but if he was 2 lawsuit, it must be a proper reality show

Reality TV. Once you add a descriptor to any word, it no longer means the base word. So Reality TV is no longer just reality or just TV. It is something different from both. Neither completely scripted nor completely real.
If it were completely real, no one would watch it. Everyone's daily minutia is boring.
You forgot the oldies and originals like Big Brother, Charm School (almost ruined the reputation of my best friend- thank goodness she used a fake name!), Real Life (or whatever that one was called), Rock of Love (Bus?), etc etc. Etc. And not too long ago, Bar Rescue (almost destroyed the reputation of the wonderful, respectable Doctor that delivered both of sons)... They're ALL fake. I can't even name that many because I can't watch them anymore without turning into Beavis & Butthead on my couch!

The TV show Airline should be on this list. I worked with EasyJet at a UK airport when the show was popular, the producers use to provoke the passengers to get angry on purpose so they would complain at the ticket desk so they could film it.
All "reality" tv is scripted in one way or another,
I remember a case some years ago, where some participants in a show called young parent (those were people who got children while being 18 or younger)
They accused the show's producers for deliberately creating situations where problems and conflict would arise, such as going to a mall, where they would pay for the expenses,
and then purposefully annoy the family on scene, to make them argue with one another.
Its all scripted in some way or the other,
Game Of Thrones is more realistic than most of those anyway....
In defense of American Pickers, what difference does it make if Frank was a firefighter for years? Plenty of people do a full time job and do picking,car restoration, home renovation, etc on the side. He did eventually have his own picking biz, then teamed up with Mike to do a show. And they stage things to make it interesting, no duh. Who doesn't know this about all reality shows?
I saw that Kitchen Nightmare with that guy Martin.He was constantly on his cell phone,He was relaxing while a waitress gave him hair massages .He could not get employment after the show because he was a total slackoff.The kitchen was full of cockroaches that everyone saw but him.The restaurant was called Dillons

During a shoot for a reality show, every scene is planned at least the day before taping, right down to the general premise, the time and location, who will be in the scene, and what kind of clothes you wear. You're given a sheet of paper the day before with all this info on it.

Of the shows shown in this list I only watch(ed, don't have a TV anymore) Storage Wars, American Pickers and Pawn Stars, and I knew that these shows were fake. They are just good, brainless entertainment you can watch after a long day.

My life is a lie
A friend of mine acted in an episode on one of those tow truck reality shows set in LA. He played the role of a hostile gang-banger type of guy getting up in the face of the tow driver's face, cussing them out, then getting slammed on the hood of the car by the tow driver. My friend is a really chill dude, doesn't cuss, doesn't act like that in real life like he did for the "reality" show. I also saw pictures of that friend and the tow driver online together after the episode debuted, both were smiling and giving thumbs up to the camera, lol.
My brother also works as a soundman, doing the field recording and boom mic op. He was brought onto a pilot for a reality show that didn't get picked up for TV. The show was about some couple starting up a restaurant, restoring it and such. They were dealing with some actual rat problems, but couldn't catch the actual rats on camera, so they bought a Fancy Rat pet to stage scenes, lol. My brother ended up taking the pet rat home after production.

I was very sus about Storage Wars, since an episode where they had a storage with a "Meth lab" in it, and there was a shady guy in the crowd who left right after they sold the storage to someone else.
It was a very VERY fishy episode because of this...
