Thank You Gillis.....First I would like to say what a pleasure it is to start a TH-cam video and NOT have commercials!!!!! Gillis your early stuff is nice to watch. It shows your energy, imagination, determination. TM
So skilled with hand tools; would love to get this proficient one day.
I really enjoy how you make-do with what you have vs spending tons of money on boutique tools. So glad I found your channel.
Just find your channel and I like it! I Subscribe! Keep up the good work!
Thanks for this movie. That's one very impressive handle!
Thanks for sharing as for teaching you might be surprised hope your channel grows
Thank you very much!
I'm always happy to see a new video from you. Greetings from Germany to the country of birches and pines - and strömming😂
Thank you August, glad to have you on board for the journey! Gonna be in the mood for strömming all day now ;)
Lots of information here! Specially on the carving part of the handle.
Beautiful. This is something that I have always wanted to do. Thanks for the video.
Give it a go, it's lots of fun! Thanks!
Another great project and video my friend. Regards!
Many thanks! Happy you enjoyed it!
I see a Paul Sellers fan in action - nice technique
For sure! Thanks!
Great job! Congrats my Friend.
Thank you very much!
Beauty
Thank you! :D
Awesome! What did you wipe down the blade with when done?
Thanks! Same stuff as the planes but I'll drop the info here as well: I use sewing machine oil for both lubrication and rust protection, just a very thin coat applied by Paul Sellers-style rag-in-a-can. I don't think there's anything special about sewing machine oil but it's colorless and thin and seems to work very well.
Wonderfull, congratulations! !
Thank you very much!
I have a handsaw like this, very rusty and I'm thinking of doing a Japanese handsaw with it ...
@@Tomlima23 That sounds ambitious! Would love to see it done
@@GillisBjork I have to try, legitimate Japanese handsaw here in Brazil is very expensive...
So, what do you do for a career??
