The one thing the UK has that can't be duplicated is age. Everything has a sense of time about it, from the trees to the buildings, to the countryside itself. You live in a marvelous place Sandy. Thanks for taking us on your tour.

Getting lost most definately does have it's virtues. These old tree's could tell a few stories I'm sure. Apparently Henry viii had a picnic beneath the fat bellied oak. Maybe it left an impression on him cos in later life he looked like a fat bellied Oak:)

Sandy I'm going through a bit of health problems at the moment but living life through you and your adventures
I love your get up and go and including your wife where possible.
My wife died over 30 years ago when she was in her late 20's and miss her most days
I have been a licenced Ham radio operator for over 46 years and have supported its use with emergency comms both in the UK and overseas
I love HF as VHF is ruined by idiots causing QRM and worse
I look forward to every video you produce be it camping, Ham radio or para-motoring because I know it's going to be interesting, informative, educational and fun.

Wow! Some great shots taken from the drone, and I think that is one of the more extensive forests I have seen in a video from England. I am guessing Wiltshire is one of the more wooded counties over there? Some interesting names for the oak trees too, and you can see their age just by looking at them, extraordinary. The Big Belly Oak almost looks like he has a sad look on his face, must be too close to the road?

That’s some beautiful drone footage Sandy. Really does look like an ancient landscape that has stood the test of time. Oaks are beautiful, my childhood was spent playing under a certain very large oak. The truck was huge. Must also be at least 900 to 1000 years old to. I think I must convince my wife & daughters to have a family camp out there. Hope your hand has now full recovered. Cheers Andy

Really enjoyed your exploration of the forest. I am a resident of Marlborough and since the country-wide lockdown began I have done several walks in Savernake which is eerily empty considering the fine weather. I have already seen a few of the named trees but am hoping to do a longer hike to the King of Limbs in a couple of days, hopefully seeing a few others on the way.
