No wonder Kim Cattrall can't stand Sarah Jessica Parker. After watching this interview, it all makes sense now.
And when asked about her early career in movies like Hocus Pocus, she'll say that she doesn't remember it like it was beneath her.

@@richie9308 she has said time and time again that she is totally game for a sequel to 'Hocus Pocus' and how much fun she had while filming it, particularly the flying. so she's definitely proud of that in the Cult classic it's became. However, when multiple people seem to have a problem with someone, it's pretty telling the kind of person you are. She does seem to be kind of above it all, or at least comes across that way

Sarah Jessica Parker has no class and Tim Burton should have done more research. I loved the movie anyway. One of my favorites.
So she may not have won any Oscars--charming and entertaining people is a talent all its own--and showing kindness to others, as this lady seemed to, is the greatest talent of all. We love you Dolores.

It is nice to see so much support for Dolores.. I am sure she would have appreciated it. After such horrible treatment, the worst thing she would say is that SJP was "unprofessional." I think Dolores was a classy and beautiful(not to mention generous) lady.
She comes across as a very real and down to earth person. She's absolutely correct in stating the Sarah Jane Parker was extremely rude to her. All good actors research the characters diligently!! I'm sure that Delores would have been generous with her time!!!!

What would posses someone to say something like that to someone else and think it's ok? For some reason SJP is a very bitter person inside. Wait until she passes sixty, people are going to unload on her.
She's insufferable on screen to me. Not just her looks, like everyone else says, but her cheesy over the top drama. It hasn't aged well and will continue to degrade to the point that no one will respect any of her work.

i read an interview with her in an old issue of Psychothronic magazine. she seemed like a nice lady (died in 2011).
I went to her estate sale, I do believe I bought her Kraftwerk albums among other cool things. The guys running it said she would be able to sign my VHS copy of Glen or Glenda. They said I got her last autograph, sad. She seemed like a very nice woman.
At personal appearances SJP's not very fan friendly. She even refuses to be photographed with fans. That's not a fault of any throat condition. She's indeed rude.

Delores might enjoy this tidbit about SJP. An acquaintance of mine does special effects in Hollywood. His company was hired to do the special effects for Sex in the City II. They set a new Hollywood record for the most 'layers' of special effects (98 layers). The reason for all of the layer....to cover up the blemishes and cellulite of the aging actresses including SJP.

I thought SJP was great in the Ed Wood movie. It's like the only thing she has ever done that i really like. I have no idea why she didn't want to meet the real Dolores Fuller or why she was rude to her. I do know that Patricia Arquette made the effort to meet Ed Wood's wife Cathy however.

I can agree with what she said about them portraying Ed as always being so happy. It's hard for me to believe someone who was an alcoholic and crossdresser would always be so 'up' and delightful like he was in the movie.
Ahteed, I feel sure Ed lived on his nerves and was a very 'up and down' character - maybe bipolar. He became an alcoholic quite early I believe so he clearly wasn't happy.

Gosh I'm glad I found this interview. I am about to watch an old movie and saw her name amongst others and decided to look her up. Duh on me for not knowing who she is and I love old movies. What a great interview and I'm sorry she was so disrespected by SJP. Before seeing this, I was a cheerleader for SJP because of Square Pegs, but this put her down 100 notches in my book. Thank you for the upload. Dolores seems so nice!

Sarah Jessica Parker I think was insecure and jealous of Dolores's natural beauty and personality, so she put her down as she doesn't want to share the limelight with her.

I agree with you, I'm 23 and I would never even consider telling someone they're the worst something of all time even if it was true. It's not even a case of just knowing how to treat your elders, it's a case of knowing how to treat people. Ya know, I felt sympathy for SJP when she was deemed the worlds ugliest woman by Maxim (though I personally agreed with them), because no matter how rich you are or how well your career is going, a woman still wants to feel like she is attractive (or at least not feel like they are a gross horse-human). However, now I am glad that she is aware of what it feels like to be told to your face that you are "the world's worst/ugliest ____". At least Dolores had kindness, class and beauty going for her

um, it actually IS untrue. I just watched the interview myself because it seemed very out of character for SJP. She did say she was playing the worst actress in Hollywood but she didn't say it to DF's face and had no idea the woman was even there - she wasn't badmouthing her she was just explaining the character she was portraying. And it's not SJP's fault that the script was written to be unflattering to DF

@SerenityM16 Yes well Bela Lugosi Jr (Lugosi's son) has also stated that his father never acted anything like Landau's portrayal of him in Ed Wood, and also the idea that Lugosi would fly off the handle at the mere mention of Boris Karloff's name :-P Karloff and Lugosi had too much respect for each other as professionals for that kind of behavior.

I just finished wacthing Glen or Glenda and Ms. Fuller gave a touching and convincing performance. I don't think Ms. Jessica-Parker would be able to pull off the high-concept fantasy sequences like Ms. Fuller did in G or G.
I have a photo from Glen or Glenda that Dolores, kindly autographed for me. Bless her. She seems a very sweet woman and went on to prove she was actually very talented after her Ed Wood years. Also, she has the same name as my mother. I'm awfully disappointed in SJP. That was tasteless and unnecessary behavior. She makes horses look like ingrates. They are not.

She was mad about the way she was portrayed in ED WOOD. She didn't leave Ed because the movies were bad and his friends and he were weirdoes. "I need a normal life!" she exclaims in the film. No, she left him because he was an alcoholic.
Some people choose not to meet with the person in real life because they are just trying to do the character the director wants portrayed, not the actual person. From what Delores is saying, she had a good relationship with Ed after they broke up, whereas the character Delores was totally sickened by him and his friends and went out in a total huff. The character was also supposed to be portrayed as an aspiring - but terrible- actress.
