Sorry but you don't want to hear my French accent! It was a better choice for me to use a robot voice so that more people can understand.

Also, ChatGPT didn't exist at the time I created this piano tuning tutorial. The voice would have been much better. Also people, please keep in mind this is only an EXCERPT of the tuning lever manipulation chapter so it is not complete.

Issues like this can be avoided with the Dan Levitan professional C lever.

Engineering point of view, the design of that part is awful

@@PianoTuningHowTo the pin is sitting on wooden block that is rotting with time. The high tension of the string also increase the degradation of the wood. Example, why would anyone build a expensive mansion using plywood that rot away quickly? My suggestion to future piano builder/designer is to re-engineer this weakest part of the piano. (1) Either you make the wooden block easily replaceable from the back of the piano, or (2) use some metal/plastic block with holes in which you can insert wooden bushing, that way, whenever the wooden bushing no longer hold the tension, just drill it out, place a new bushing, then replace the pin and retune. This is good, because you dont need to replace whole pin block (3) Else, re-engineer a new pin, like the one found in our car engine valve. in which you use spanner to adjust the clearance, then another screw in the middle to lock it in place. the pin need to have teeth to bite into the aging pinblock. this is the best because you can use it even for old piano.
